Felix woke up the next morning filled with dread. All he could dream about last night was of the invitation Chan had given him at work yesterday to come watch a match.
As much as Felix hated to admit it, there was a small piece of him that wanted to see what all the hype was around Red Dragon Fury. I mean, it couldn't be that interesting, right?
Felix quickly pushed those thoughts out of his head though, getting up out of bed to get changed for work. He knew he was gonna see Chan today, which made him a little nervous but he tried not to dwell on it.
Once he made sure he had everything he needed, he quickly walked down to his car to drive into town for work. He turned on the radio to try and distract himself from his thoughts, not wanting to give into his curiosity about the arena.
Felix eventually made it to the cafe, stepping out of his car and walking inside. Luckily he only had to be there till lunch today and then he got to go home. Or maybe he could go watch a match?
That thought made Felix quickly shake his head, already knowing what was gonna be there if he went. He didn't want to see people beating each other or run into any illegal substances while he was at it. But that small little curiosity was still there, feeling like he needed to go since Chan offered and it was a hidden place, making him more intrigued.
Felix walked into the back of the store, putting on his apron and starting to make some brownies, not wanting to deal with customers today, to in his head to be able to have a conversation.

Felix's shift went by in a blur. He only realized it had ended when he saw Lisa walking through the double doors to take his place, making him sigh and put down the cupcake mixes he read holding, walking over and taking off of his apron as well.
He walked out of the back, not saying a word to his coworker before walking out of the store, but accidentally bumping into someone since he was looking at his feet.
He instantly looked up to apologize but the words got caught in his throat when he say who it was.
"I'm sorry Felix! Are you okay?" Asked his new dimpled coworker, making Felix slowly nod his head, his throat feeling like it was pinched shut.
Chan must have picked up on his speechlessness because he gave Felix a little look before saying "Okay"
Felix watched as Chan turned around to go inside, making Felix's head swim for a minute. Should he ask to go to a match? No he shouldn't, he shouldn't get involved with that horrid place. But this was a once in a lifetime opportunity. He knew that Chan wasn't gonna ask again and he was Felix's ticket in, so before he could think, he found himself speaking.
"Wait, Chan!"
That made the said male turn around, raising his eyebrows slightly as if telling Felix to continue.
Felix stood there for a minute before speaking, his voice slightly strained,
"You said there was a match tonight right?"
Felix watched as Chans eyes widen just a fracture at his question before they were back to normal. It happened so fast Felix wasn't sure if it did actually happen.
"That's right, there's a match with King tonight" Chan said making Felix furrow his eyebrows.
"Who's king?"
"My fighter. It's his stage name. Everybody calls him that since he's been champion for years," Chan explains making Felix slowly nod his head before speaking again in a low voice.
"Can I... is the offer still there for me to come watch?"
That made Chan actually pull a face, one of disbelieving is what Felix would call it. He watched his coworker furrow his eyebrows before replying in a low, surprised voice.
"Really? YOU wanna come watch my fighter box tonight?"
That made Felix pull a face as well, not liking the others tone, feeling himself get a little defensive.
"Don't say it like that. Is it really that shocking that I want to come?"
"Yeah, it is actually. When I brought it up yesterday you looked at me like I was crazy. You sure you want to come? It's not exactly an ideal place" Chan says making Felix gulp.
He knew he shouldn't go, Chan was right. It wasn't an ideal place to be and he knew he wasn't gonna fit in or like what he saw. But despite all that, he found himself nodding his head.
Chan eyed him a little more before giving him a small smile and pulling out his phone.
"Alright then, you can come and watch. I'll pick you up after my shift tonight. Put your number in and text me your addresses at around 9ish, okay?"
Felix nodded again before taking the others phone, and putting in his number, before saving it and sending himself a text so he knew it was Chan before handing the other back his phone.
Chan took his phone back before giving Felix a smile and heading inside the cafe to start his shift, leaving Felix alone outside.
He stood there for a minute more, watching Chan through the window before turning around and walking to his car, wanting nothing more than to go home, so that's exactly what he did.
Felix drove back to his apartment in silence. No radio playing music, no air conditioning blowing through the vent, complete silence other than the sound of the cars outside.
He parked his car outside his apartment complex before walking up the stairs, unlocking the door and letting himself in, kicking off his shoes before walking over to his bedroom and flopping on the bed.
Felix lay on his back, staring at the ceiling, the weight of his previous decision now sitting on him, making him feel suffocated.
He knows he shouldn't go. He knows he should call Chan and tell him he can't make it anymore. He knows he shouldn't text the other his address. He knows he should just stay at home where it's safe and sound.
But as much as he told himself he shouldn't, he knew he was gonna do it anyways
