"Get up you bi-" yells a step dad to his stepdaughter
"Is she up yet Gabe?" (Anyone who recognizes the reference I love you!) yells the girl's mother
"Not yet babe!" He yells back
The man shoves the girl off the bed. She lands with a bang.
"Ow what the heck gabe!" Yells the girl
The man rolls his eyes and yells "be glad I can't kick you out. But remember that's only because I'm sleeping with your mom the moment is of no use to me all eight of you will be on the streets!"
"Actually you're forgetting about my dad, your wife's ex husband." The girl thinks to herself
"It's your turn to make breakfast." The man says as he walks out
The girl gets up from the floor and grabs her phone
"Hey can we have a meeting at the playground before school." She text to a group chat
Jake's pov
I wake up to a ding from my phone my neck is aching. I pull my self , Oreo and milo out of the closet we were hiding in.
"Is he gone?" milo asks scared
"Yeah he's gone." I reply "go get ready now I'll check on mom."
I go into the living room and find my mom past out on the couch. I get a Powerade, some pain pills, a wet wash cloth, and a blanket and start to nurse my mom back to health.
After 30 minutes she wakes up
"What happened?!" She asks
"Tom." I say blankly as i duck my head knowing that my mom was going to slap me
"Don't talk about your future stepdad that way." She yells as she tries to slap me
I roll my eyes
"If he's so great where is your engagement ring?" I ask
"He said he's working on it." She says
"Yeah right." I throw the bottle of medicine and Powerade at her "I'm going to help milo get ready for school."
I go to my room and pick up my phone to see who texted me
A text from milly it reads:

With two other text from the other members of the club group chat

I write back

Milly: Gabe threw me out of bed again
