"How can I validate if you are really my soulmate, Aer?"
Yre asked before munching on her apple. Apparently, there is food here in Pita. Unlike in other realms like on Earth, food here is not a necessity. Aer said that they thought of having food here in hopes of helping the recovery and healing of Warriors they treat.
"Asking the Source, the Creator I guess? But He might be too busy to accommodate such questions from us."
Aer answered, shrugging his shoulders. He just finished peeling an orange and offered it to Yre. He picked out another one from the big tree that was towering over them. There is no darkness in Pita, the light is always present shining in the place.
"I see. So how's your ascension journey going? You are pretty lucky to live here in Pita, other realms are much harsher, you know?"
Aer laughed a little as if what Yre said was funny. His laugh sounded like music in Yre's ears.
It's been a long time since I heard music.
Yre thought, not quite sure why she keeps on remembering Earth realm as she spends more time with Aer. Maybe because he's an Earthling after all? Earth is honestly one of her least favorite realms, it is a beautiful place but lacks depth and simplicity.
"Milady, will you ever tell me how many lifetimes have you lived? How many places have you been? At first sight, there's no denying that you are such a strong soul but I didn't expect you to be this.... uhm strong?"
And Aer laughed again like a madman. Yre is seriously considering asking the Source if this man is really her soulmate but then, she remembered that he is still a young soul. Oh, that sense of youth, indeed!
For the first time in this lifetime, Yre grinned.
"Oh just because I look younger than you in this lifetime? This is my eighth lifetime, Dear, and Aseb is the fifth place I lived. If you are really my soulmate, I hope you are not intimidated!"
Never thought that I will ever miss this childish, almost senseless banter!
Yre thought again. She laughed out loud when she saw how shocked Aer is, his jaw almost dropping.
"Five lifetimes gap indeed! But nope, I am not intimidated. How can I be if you look so adorable in everything you do? I should thank my Lord that you are my soulmate because if not, I will still ask Him if you can be!"
Yre rolled her eyes.
"This is not Earth, Healer Aer but whatever floats your boat! And may I ask where you spent your last two lifetimes?"
"My home, Earth. I am looking forward to my next ones there..."
Home. Such an empty word.
Yre just nodded, content to watch other creatures playing in the distance. She doesn't know how to answer that anyway.
"How about you, Yre? Where's your home?"
"You should study more, Aer. I don't have one, our race doesn't have a home. Lightworkers are nomads, we are meant to serve anywhere and return to nowhere."
Aer knotted his forehead as if trying to remember something.
"Oh you are that Warrior! The one who refused to ascend and decided to keep on staying here in the Middle! You already lived in five places, there must be a place that felt home for you?"
Yre shook her head.
"What is home, anyway?"
Aer smiled warmly.
"A place of love, Yre. Home is just a place of love..."
Their eyes met and Yre felt as if time stopped and every realm paused existing at that very moment. Aer almost took her breath away so she had to be the one to cut the staring contest. His gaze is too sticky to her liking, if there is such an adjective.
Holy, what was that?!
"Love? No doubt that you are an Earthling, Aer! I wonder why you are here in Pita now, it seems like Earth needs the likes of you more..."
Yre answered, chuckling. Slowly finding her so-called soulmate's thoughts interesting.
"I also used to wonder about that but the moment you arrived, I finally knew. This is the lifetime to meet my soulmate, to meet you, Yre. Finally, you are here..."
