I've been alone for so many lifetimes.

There is so many lives I've connected with. There is so many souls I've touched. But every lifetime taught me that my own company is still the best one.

Solitude is my oldest and only companion, maybe a friend.

Not until now.

"Yre, do you accept Aer, as your sole, as your soulmate. Do you accept this union, a soul for a soul. From one spirit to another. Now with one heart..."

I can't help but stare at Aer's bare eyes, it is a beautiful kind of brown. Words are not enough but the closest ones I can think of to describe those are pure love and awe.

"I fully accept with joy and gratitude, my Lord..."

Aer blinked and smiled.

I nodded as if my words are still not enough as my response.

The Source faced Aer.

"Aer, do you accept Yre, as your sole, as your soulmate. Do you accept this union, a soul for a soul. From one spirit to another. Now with one heart..."

My heart skipped a beat, anticipating.

"I fully accept with joy and gratitude, my Lord..."

Both of us bowed and closed our eyes to receive the final blessing.

"Very well, my children! As soulmates finally united, finally one. I bless and declare that once again, you are now one. Never be apart, never be separated..."

I've been alone for so many lifetimes.

There is so many lives I've connected with. There is so many souls I've touched. But I never felt this connected, this touched.

I never felt this whole. Tears are fast to come and confirm. Aer is the same.

"Amen!"

The Warriors cheered.

It is still dark outside Aseb as wars continue to go on around us here in the Middle.

But today, in this rare occurrence, a union of soulmates, love and light enveloped us.

"Thank you for being with me, Yre. Thank you!"

I smiled.

"And thank you for pursuing me, Aer! More than healing, you've made me whole. I couldn't ask for more, my love..."

Aer almost melted.

"Enough of sweet nothings! Seal it with a kiss! KISS! KISS! KISS!"

The Warriors roared and cheered.

Aer grinned and I laughed. We happily obliged.

I never thought that this lifetime would be my best one so far.

Life here in the Middle indeed is still full of beautiful surprises and goodness.
