Neuvillette turned into a lizard?!

"Ok ok please calm down Y/N we can fix Neuvillette's um......current state...."

Furina tried to calm me down but I couldnt calm down! I've been panicking the moment I entered Neuvillette's office.

"My salary is going to get cut for calling him a lizard" I admitted and hid my face with my hands

Upon telling her my worries Furina burst out laughing forgetting why I even called her for help and its situation.

"You called him a lizard?!" She laughed loudly at the absurdity of my unusual reaction compared to my customary indifferent and cool expression already imagining the funny scenario that happened earlier.

"Ms. Furina please be more kind to Monsieur Neuvillette's current state and the possibility of me losing my job for disrespecting him"

"You put Neuvillette's problem first before yourself. You really are a workaholic Y/N" She said diminishing her joyful laughter and crossed her legs to get into a more 'serious' mode.

"Alright I'll stop but I need to know what happened before you came to me" She asked in order to understand the situation as you were the first one to know everything that happened.

Taking a long breath and exhaled you begin to recount the events that happened earlier today.

"Well, everything started the moment I entered his office......"

A Few hours ago

The Opera Epiclese, filled with applause from the audience as Lyney took place on the stage dazzling the audience with his magic tricks of all kinds.

Lynette and I were just watching from behind the scenes occasionally helping out the crew prepare the props for Lyney's act.

"Thank you for helping Lyney get the opera house booked today Y/N" Lynette said as we both watched Lyney's performance from the side where no one would notice us.

"Are you not going on stage Lynette?"

"No, I'm not. I'm waiting for Lyney to finish his performance until curtain call" she said as she casually took out a steaming hot tea cup from one of her cards. "Tea?"

"Thank you but maybe next time i need to go back to the palais I still have work to do" I said as I organized my bag a bit before leaving.

"Ok let's have a tea party with the kittens next time then Ms. Y/N" Lynette replied as she continued to watch Lyney while sipping her tea.

"Good afternoon Sedene is Monsieur Neuvillette in his office today?" I asked the little Melusine working on the front desk of the Palais Mermonia.

"Yes, he is, he hasn't left his office the entire day" Sedene replied in a matter of factly tone.

"Thank you for letting me know also here it's for you. The limited-edition only 16-slices-a-day cake" I exclaimed handing her a small package.

Sedene's mood brighten up a bit upon opening to see the cake you bought for her and smiled to thank you.

"Ms. Y/N thank you but you shouldn't have"

"It's alright I also gave some to Liath on my way here" I gently reassure her before heading towards Neuvillette's office "I should get going or else Monsieur Neuvillette will scold me for being late have a nice afternoon Sedene!"

Sedene waved at me and proceeded to prepare her tea to pair with the cake.

As I stood before the doors of his office I knocked first before entering as per the protocols of the Palais.

"Good afternoon, Monsieur it's Y/N may I come in?"

No answer?

"Monsieur Neuvillette?" I knocked again waiting for permission yet after a few minutes he still hasn't called out.

"I'll be coming in"

I opened the door and entered the large office. There wasn't anything unusual inside other than the missing Iudex.

"Monsieur Neuvillette?"

A little dragon with white coat and dark blue highlights on its head faced me the moment I opened the door.

"Hm a lizard?" I asked to myself as you approached near the office table.

"Y/N forgive for this...predicament but I am not a lizard" The lizard spoke.

"A talking lizard?!"

I freaked out a bit for the uncanny situation. I already encountered Mekas and machines that can talk, hydro mimics that can talk, and even children proclaiming their cats and poodles talk which I played along.

But for some reason he sound a lot like...

"Excuse me but Monsieur Neuvillette are you the lizard?"

The 'lizard' sighed before he spoke.

"Yes, I am but I am not a—"

I almost screamed not even letting him finish his sentence.

"Monsieur Neuvillette you turned into a lizard?!"
