Another day, another morning, and work to finish today...

I yawned as I thought about this. Last night was an all-nighter finishing up the impending documents for the Research Institute permission to do a feasibility study on advanced Clockwork Mekas for construction and management powered by King Deshret's technology. Honestly, Raimondo and Mr. Choiseul could have at least let their team to send the request of materials to the Fortress of Meropide but decided to dumped it onto me assuming the approval of the project will be quicker if I passed it along.

I'm now employed as an assistant to the Iudex and in the Maison Ordalie, not an intern at the Institute!

I sighed continuing to walk to the Palais Mermonia when someone tapped onto my shoulder from behind. As I turned around, Lynette is standing behind me holding a tea cup with one hand and a newspaper on the other.

"Good morning, Ms. Y/N." Lynette greeted.

I greeted back at her, though my tiredness is obvious on my face. "Good morning Lynette, here for tea or is Lyney preparing for a magic show on the streets?"

Lynette shook her head in reply to my question. "I'm here for tea. Would you like some coffee? Hotel Debord is nearby."

"Maybe next time, I need to be on time today." I apologetically said. The coffee is tempting though, but not today. Lynette understood and nodded at my answer.

"Understood and congratulations Ms. Y/N."

"Congratulations for what?"

"For your engagement to the Iudex."

"Excuse me?!" I almost shouted in the middle of the street.

Engagement?! Since when?!

Lynette merely observed my reaction somewhat confused, yet still expressionless as she sipped her tea then proceeded to explain what she meant by that. "It's the cover story of today's Steam Bird paper, Charlotte's documentation is detailed although she may have exaggerated the headline story."

She said handing me the newspaper. I snatched it right out of her hands clearly looking out of character of me but read whatever was written on the news:

Through investigation and witness reports from the Melusine gardes, it has been proven that the Iudex of Fontaine is now courting Mademoiselle Y/N, his assistant working at the Maison Ordalie and a former senior researcher of the Fontaine Institute of Kinetic Energy Engineering

I also got an exclusive interview with Monsieur Neuvillette months prior to confirm the gossip of the Palais Mermonia and he personally verified that he has every intention of taking his assistant as his wife in his statement.

'I do love Y/N, she may have started off as a mere assistant working diligently though overtime she proved to blossom into a fine young woman despite the hassle of work. I wish nothing more than to have her as mine for eternity.'

"There is still page 3 about the Melusines interview regarding the matter, on page 4 for interviews from the researchers about the evident closeness between you and the Chief Justice, and on page 5 for an article about the proposal at the Fountain of Lucine." Lynette spoke up seemingly unbothered about whatever gossip Charlotte printed out for everyone to see, and on the front page!

"Charlotte has been following me?! Since when?!" I asked out loud but Lynette still kept her unbothered look as she replied after taking a sip from her teacup.
