Diving Escapade

"How about you take a break for now Y/N?" Neuvillette suggested out of the blue as I write down some documents. "Sigewinne mentioned that the Romaritime Flowers in Salacia Plains are in full bloom."

A relaxing break from work is tempting however given the papers and letters containing important documents that must be needed to finish, the idea popped like a bubble.

I sighed staring at the mess of papers and stacks of documents on the table. "The paperwork here is never ending."

"And that's where we come in!"

Furina exclaimed loudly almost bursting the door with a slam like a comedic scene trotting towards me and Neuvillette. Clorinde and Chevreuse were behind her following Furina like her bodyguards.

"Furina you're here let me guess the next sequence..." I propped my head with my hand and the other rested on Neuvillette's small dragon head giving it gentle strokes which in turn Neuvillette nuzzled his head to my touch.

Petting his head in his small dragon form was an unconscious routine I developed when I accidentally did it once some time ago. He didn't mind it to the sudden action and welcomed that I can pet his head whenever I'm stressed which eventually became a habit. I continued petting his head as I barely gave a glance to Furina when she walked inside.

"You propose for me to take a break, force Clorinde and Chevreuse to do my work, and finally you do another famous theatrical exit." I bluntly said while Furina gave an awkward laugh as though her plans were already predicted.

"Haha what do you even mean I have no intention of making a big speech like that," Furina let out a low awkward laugh to salvage her pride. 

"Wherever did your sense of humor went?"

"When you appointed me as acting Chief Justice of Fontaine." I smiled as bright as the sun.

Although to Neuvillette, Clorinde, and Chevreuse, my "bright smile" was a bit off with tired eye bags and the sudden twitch of my right eyebrow when Furina mentioned that.

Luckily, Clorinde spoke up to break the tense tension in the air. "I suppose this is the part where we make our presence known and explain the true intent of this visit,"

Clorinde announced while Furina hid behind her sensing my current unapproachable mood.  "First, your guess is correct but to elaborate more, me and Chevreuse aren't forced to do this. We voluntary want to help you since you managed so much of Fontaine in the past week."

"Second, all of the Melusine Gardes are ready to handle your work from paperwork to fieldwork duties so I assure you they can make the right decisions and handle the tasks efficiently." Chevreuse added.

Clorinde stared at you waiting for a response however their words fall on deft ears. "Y/N," Clorinde persisted to convince me by bringing Sigewinne's advice in her reasoning. "Working for long hours without rest is not healthy as Sigewinne said so she might get worried about you and come running from the fortress to check on you."

Neuvillette even supported Clorinde's reasoning effort as he looked up at me, encouraging to accept there help and finally taking a break.

"Please Y/N."

Neuvillette pleaded. He took advantage of his small hydro dragon form by using the most despicable convincing tactic against me.

Innocent stare with a soft spoken 'please'.

Why must Neuvillette be cute and adorable now of all times! I want to laze around and cuddle him for the rest of the day now!

I thought to myself already feeling my mental state finally giving in to his cuteness. My heart can't relax seeing the adorable Iudex any longer.
