"Today must have been tiring for you." Neuvilltte spoke as we walked together back to the Court of Fontaine after the picnic.

It was indeed really tiring, even draining to be exact after all the activities i joined with the Melusines. After the day ended and night has fallen the Melusines wanted me to stay the night at Merusea Village for a slumber party, they even went as far as waking up Kiara to use her adorableness against me. Thankfully Neuvillette chose to be by my side and gently informed the girls that is still have to attend work early tomorrow. They were all sad and resented Neuvillette a bit, Kiara was even close to tears! So, after an entire 2 hours of coaxing each Melusine, they finally agreed to let me go if i promised I will attend a slumber party at Merusea Village with them next time.

"I had fun with everyone!"

He only smiled at that, probably glad that I enjoyed the day with him and the Melusines."You are very kind and precious to the Melusines." I added

"I see them as my own daughters thus I should act as a responsible parent for them." He replied almost with a hint of affection. Though the people of Fontaine only see the Iudex and a Melusine for merely work-related relationship, for the Melusines, they all see him as their father, a parent to them. Now all they need is a mother. In which the Melusines will have one in a few days.

"Before we return would you accompany me to the Opera Epiclese?" He asked waiting for my decision to follow him.

"Sure." I replied. Neuvillette then took my hand gently entwining our fingers keeping me as close as possible as we walked towards the road to the Opera Epiclese.

A tranquil night under the stars and the calming stream of water on the fountain with only the sound of birds flying off to the night, the sky is dark yet the lights of the streetlights and of the Opera Epiclese illuminates

"It's a lot quieter tonight than usual." I spoke noticing the quiet atmosphere.

"Everyone returned to their homes for the night." Neuvillette stared at the fountain in front of him. "The Fountain of Lucine is where all the source of water all over Teyvat converge, it carries memories of the past due to the elemental energy imbued."

"And couples pray for the blessing of their child and marriage by throwing wishing coins in to the fountain." I said touching the water of the fountain with my fingers. Neuvillette seemed a bit stunned of my nonchalant comment, though he hid his surprise with his stoic face. In a few minutes though, you may want to throw a coin on to the fountain.

"Do you think their wishes came true?" I asked looking up to him.

He met my gaze yet his face is still stoic as he answered my question.

"Although it is a myth, I wish that those who offered their heartfelt desires has become a reality. Though dreams are a figment from the imagination and fictional I feel as if I am walking along my dream every day."

Hearing him say that piqued my curiosity about his dream. It is surprising to know the Iudex have dreams of his own, or a dragon per say.

"Have you reached that dream?"

He chuckled tucking a strand of my hair behind my ear, gazing longingly at me.

"It is hard to say, I am always near that dream though I have yet to conquer it to."

What did even mean by that? Is it still a dream if he is always having that dream, but not achieving it?

I questioned myself thinking what he meant by that.

"If you are always near your dream why not take it." He chuckled at my question before facing me.

"Because that dream has long been by my side,"

Time seemed to stop the moment he said that. He took both of my hands onto his, noting how his hands are larger than mine, and gently kissed the back of the palm.

"I never realized it, I merely considered it was a simple passing. Never to be taught of again, but that dream had blossomed each and every day."

"My dream, is kind, gentle, smart, caring, responsible, resilient, determined," He stopped for a moment staring at me with his face already a light blush at the tip of his ears and his eyes seemed to be just as bright as crystals, like light reflecting the water surface.

"And the most adorable assistant I never knew I wanted despite her being the first to call me adorable." He couldn't stop smiling at the remark.

It took you back to memories of when you accidentally called him a lizard, nights sleeping in his small dragon form, and all the Melusines that joined the two of you whether it be for work or relaxation.

After all that said and done, Neuvillette picked up the courage to finally utter out these words to you. Words that he never taught he would ever say to you, words that he knows are not enough for someone as precious as you, words that he hoped you'd accept in return.

"Y/N, may I take your hand in marriage, I promise you that my sincerity and devotion for you is genuine as I wish to give you a life as tranquil and peaceful as the waters of the clearest lake."

He squeezed your hands a bit almost never wanting to let you go. Dragons are greedy creatures after all.

"Your happiness, comfort, security, and all of you are of most important to me whether we will become together or not."

All I could do was just stand there. Processing everything that he said, everything that just happened. The aloof, impartial, unfeeling, Iudex and Chief Justice of Fontaine, and a Dragon, is now standing in front of me, proposing like a lover, wanting me to be a part of his life as his other half. This sounds all good to be true, but, if this is a dream, a dream I will always have in my sleep. I would have always said the same answer to him, over and over again, and indulge in the fantasy. Which has now become a reality that I will now admit my feelings to him honestly. With all my heart.

What an adorable Iudex

I internally thought to myself as Neuvillette still stand in front of me expecting an answer from me. So many expressions in one night, another new side to him.

Neuvillette took your reaction as a queue to let go of your hands from his for now so that you may not feel pressure. Mentally cursing for making you feel uncomfortable and unsure of the situation.

I should've proposed so suddenly...

"I understand this question may result an impact in your life thereafter but I am willing to wait as long as it takes--"

"Yes."

"Pardon, do you truly--" He was only shocked when a pair of lips met his own. The kiss only lasted for a minute, yet it felt like an eternity, one he rather stays for a long time.

"What a humble man I will marry soon." I laughed a bit smiling at his bewildered facial expression. He hugged me so tightly afterwards already dreaming of the life from today and for more to come. I patted his back gently trying to stifle my laughter at how possessive he is acting now as I whispered closely into his ear which the blush on his ears is noticeable after a said my words. "I'm looking forward sleeping on the same bed as before."

All that remained on that night at the Opera Epiclese, is the sound of birds flapping their wings flying off to the sky, the starry lights of the Fontaine night sky, the flowing water of the Fountain of Lucine, and the cold air bristling to the wind. Yet it is warm in his arms, filled with warmth, love, and a dream for the present, the future, and to you.

His precious treasure.

"I'd like to let you know Wriothesley was responsible for the Melusine gathering event. He said in order to properly court you, i have to first introduce my family to you so that when we are wed you may be comfortable around us."

"He did what?! And a wedding?!"

"Did you not thought of having a ceremony, if we do I quite prefer a beach wedding if I do say so myself."

"Neuvillette, we have all the time to talk about wedding arrangements another day or so."

"But I wish to call you as my wife already."

"Wife?!"
