"Kailan kaya ako makakapagpahinga man lang? Pagkatapos nito utak ko naman ang mapapagod." Adhara cried as she forcefully sat down.
Katatapos lang kasi ng parade namin which signifies that the celebration has officially began. Hindi ako sumagot. I removed my white cap and wiped off the sweat on my forehead.
It's part of her responsibility as the secretary of our class.
The parade started at five o'clock a.m. For certain she hasn't had her well-deserved rest dahil kailangan ding maagang bumangon.
We're group based on year level, reason why we all assembled first, all grade 12 students from all the different strands united as one and simultaneously proceeded to the hall.
The program started and everyone settled for it but it's really inevitable that the attention of the majority is directed to somewhere else.
The festival dance competition will be held tomorrow kaya halos wala pa akong ganap kundi ang manood lang. But from all the activities posted for the whole duration of the celebration, nothing seems to interest me. I just want to do one thing but that shall wait until tomorrow.
After the short introduction about what everyone is to expect, and the little dancing of each group (per grade level) hinayaan na nila kaming gawin ang gusto naming gawin.
I merely followed along because I have no other choice.
There are several food halls aligned outside the hall and each offered varieties of food. Adhara visited each and I followed along waiting for her to finally choose the food she wants to eat.
Hanggang sa umorder na siya ng pagkain from one of the stalls. I also saw Whymsica's friend's food stall hindi kalayuan sa kung saan kami bumili ni Adhara.
I got myself milktea and potato chips which we waited for almost ten minutes to be prepared. Adhara got herself similar drink, and some sort of Korean foods. I subtly note the little similarity she shares with Xian.
Then I mentally shook my head to erase the thought off. But I just couldn't brush off what happened yesterday. The biking lesson we had wasn't even close to fruitful. We spent approximately two hours just balancing myself while I rode the bike but it's just a fail.
We settled at one of the benches near a mahogany tree. Maraming nagkalat na estudyante ngayon because obviously, it's a day to celebrate. There are also students from other schools that went to join us with one of the monumental occasion of our school.
Booths are suffused around, activities are brimming, there are also games and other entertainments that will serve the students and visitors alike.
Sumimsim ako sa milktea as soon as I made myself comfortable in my seat. Adhara busied herself with the food for the next five minutes before she spoke.
"Ah. I have a question." She stated while she munched over her corndog which they call crowndog. Witty.
"Is this the question you wanted to ask yesterday?" She eagerly nodded her head.
"This is still with regards to Vaughn's friend. Nagreply na ba siya sa'yo? I saw you the last time during practice na magkasama."
Right. I haven't told her yet. I gauge her face before giving her my answer.
