"Found you, Red"
All of the Marauders paused their conversation and stared at the new arrival. He wore a green turtleneck pullover and a black trench coat. I blinked multiple times trying to comprehend the situation I had gotten myself into.
"What are you doing here Regulus?" It was Sirius who spoke up. All Humor had left his eyes and for once there was no trace of flirting or smugness on him. I had never seen Sirius so.. serious.
"Me and Alexis have something to take care of, If you wouldn't mind me borrowing her" Regulus didn't look at Sirius at all, his eyes remained on me the whole time.
"We actually do mind" Sirius spoke out, picking up on what was happening.
"We mind a lot actually" James added, backing Sirius.
"Good thing that it's Alexis decision then" Regulus still looked at me, his eyes hadn't even left mine when James spoke up. I had a feeling that the situation would only get worse the longer it remained unsolved. I was so caught up starring back at Regulus that I took embarrassingly long to notice each one of the boys starring at me.
"Do you want to go with him, Lexi?" Remus was the one who finally broke the silence.
"yes" I breathed "Yes, I should go. We need to handle some Planning committee business. I'll see you back in the castle"
I got up from my place in the booth. I suspected it was to make his brother even more furious but Regulus took my coat and helped me put it on before opening the door for me. I didn't miss the smirk that Regulus had on his lips when he looked back to the table I had been sitting at.
Regulus lead me to one of the side alleys without saying a word. The smug look on his face remained. I hit his shoulder. "Stop looking so smug, I only came with you because the planning committee needs this to be done"
"Sure you would have" he smirked "when did you become friends with them anyways?"
"I've been friends with Remus for a bit longer but I just recently started talking to them" Regulus hummed, nodding his head along.
"Remus is the least objectionable of those idiots" he looked at me "You have heard what everybody says about them yes?"
"I didn't know you were one for Gossip, Black. After all there is much gossip about you too" I huffed, pushing my hands into the pockets of my coat "And one of those Idiots is your brother"
"My point still stands" he grins at me "And what gossip are we talking about here?"
"Oh please, as if you don't know what they say about you" I scoffed.
"Humor me"
"They say you eat caviar for breakfast every morning, bathe in champagne, only ear the finest fur and destroy water beds while having sex" I hated myself for including the last rumor. I had heard someone say it before but alone the amused way he looked at me made me regret saying anything.
"First, I don't even like caviar. Alone the thought of eating fish eggs makes my skin crawl" I shuddered at the thought as well "Second I bathe in normal water. I did drop a rather expensive bottle of Champagne in a pool once and swam in it after if that counts" he cocked his head to the side "And I don't wear fur at all" Then he turned around but continued walking backwards "And as for the last point... " he paused "It wasn't a water bed"
I was saved from having to continue the conversation when we finally reached the tailor. A cloud of warmth hit me when I entered. The walls were hung with every fabric one could think of, a fire burned in the back corner of the store. Mannequins with stunning suits and dresses stood everywhere.
