I hated the stairs in Hogwarts. As if the fact that they were moving wasn't enough, there were also enough of hem to make me cry. My first year in Hogwarts I stood up 30 minutes early to avoid being late. Years later I still stood up early, but not for the same reason. Now I did it to avoid the crowds.
Hogwarts had something peaceful when everybody was asleep, which was one of the reason that I took the position as Ravenclaws Prefect. The Patrolling of halls at night was one of the many things I enjoyed about the job. Also one of the perks was that I didn't get lost anymore. I knew the castle better then I knew myself, but to my surprise I always found new things once I was convinced that there wasn't anything left to explore.
Once in a while a ghost brushed past me or a painting spoke up but other then that the Night was surprisingly quiet. I knew that there were three more prefects on duty, but I hadn't seen any of then yet, I never did. I brushed my fingers against a wall with delicate design carved into the heavy stone.
"I had an idea" I jumped at the sudden voice. My heat raced for a second before I turned around. I placed my hand over my heart as I tried to calm down. Regulus looked half apologetic and half amused.
"Fucking hell, Black!" I hissed "Don't scare me like that!"
"Sorry Red" he chuckled "Didn't know you were that jumpy" I closed my eyes and leaned against the wall behind me. It still felt weird that regulus and I were now somehow friendly.
"So what's the idea that you needed to tell me so bad that you almost gave me a heart attack?" I felt him approach me and lean against the wall next to me.
"At th last committee meeting we talked about the poster" he recapped, I nodded "Nesta had the idea that the dress sketch we made could be handed to a tailor in Hogsmead. So I thought that the sooner we had the dress the better, cause we still need to find someone that can wear it on the Poster"
"I think Nesta should wear it" I butted in "After all it was her idea and she would fit the theme perfectly"
"I already made the sketch of the dress, so we could bring it to the tailor in Hogsmead this weekend-" he started but I cut him off.
"Hold up" I held up my hands and he paused "You. You made the sketch?"
"Yeah?" He spoke like it was obvious. "Nesta can't draw for shit"
A small chuckle escaped my lips as I begun to smile. The loud gong of the clock tower ringing midnight made me jump once more. I yelped as I hit my head on one of the designs that I was tracing only minutes ago. Now it was Regulus turn to chuckle. I glared at him while rubbing my head.
The clock striking midnight was our clue that our patrol was over, we both knew that. I glanced both directions of the hall way. One way lead to the dungeons while the other lead to the Astronomy tower where he Ravenclaw common room was located.
"Red?" I looked at Regulus who had risen from his place next to me "I'll see you tomorrow then" Tomorrow was Saturday, the weekend where we could go to Hogsmead. I nodded at him "I'll find you there"
"Good night"

I was kicking myself for the decisions I had made the past week. Somehow I had forgotten all my rules that I had set in place. They existed for a reason. One of the rules was that I never, and I mean never, would have anything to do with the Marauders. Another was to never have two social obligations in one day.
Somehow I had broken both rules the same day that I walked to the Gryffindor Table for breakfast instead of the Ravenclaw one. Sirius had greeted me enthusiastically, almost spilling his entire pumpkin juice over the table on the process. I wanted to cringe at him yelling my name across the table but nobody seemed to care.
