THIRD PERSON POV

The bright light hanging on the ceiling illuminated the documents and files that had surrounded the table. The brunette rammed her hand through the items, her gaze fixated on the computer screen. She grabbed her phone and without taking a peek, she silenced it and sipped coffee from the paper cup that had her name misspelled.

With a click of the tongue, she ran her fingers through her slightly tangled hair as her free hand hovered over the keyboard. She analyzed the designs again and again before she finally sent them to her clients.

The pending emails and the yet-to-work-on files added more stress to her day. The girl had been seated in her chair for hours, attempting to converse with her clients and make them the designs of their dreams.

In mere seconds, her buzzing phone caught her attention for the second time. However, due to the work, she had yet to complete, she chose to finish the pending project and prioritize nothing over it.

Just as it was about to vibrate itself off the messy table, a pair of hands reached out to catch it causing her to sigh in relief.

"Aisha! Can you please pick up the call?"

Aisha Mehra's gaze shifted to her colleague slash best friend, Aditi Tiwari, who stood before her, clearly annoyed.

Setting her cup aside, Aisha reclaimed her phone from Aditi's grasp and widened her eyes at the flood of notifications on the screen.

She jumped out of the chair to the window and dialed back the number that had been trying to contact her for a while.

Aditi, with a mischievous giggle, trailed behind Aisha, fully aware of the scolding her friend was about to receive.

Aisha leaned against the glass, waiting for the call to connect. When it finally did, she was met with her mother's scream, prompting her to squint and distance herself from the device.

"Aisha! Why aren't you picking up my calls? You were supposed to be back home by now! Where are you?" The shouting left the girls feeling thankful that none of their colleagues were nearby during their break, as every word echoed loudly from the other end.

"I am sorry, Ma," she said. "I was planning to come home early, but my boss gave me more work. I need to finish it since I won't have much time in the next few days." She lied, blaming her boss even though she knew he was the kindest person alive.

He had graciously allowed her multiple days off to attend her sister Mahi's wedding in Udaipur. Even though she would be in a different city, she intended to stay committed to her work by contributing remotely.

"I know beta but try to understand, it's your sister's wedding and she is freaking out. She needs you, she needs your help in packing her bags-" Her mother suddenly cut herself off, putting Aisha in confusion. "Wait a second, have you packed your bags?"

Aisha face palmed herself, biting her lips in the fear of her stressed-out mother. The brunette had been so busy completing her work that she forgot to pack her own bags for the trip which she is supposed to leave for tomorrow.

Mahi, the eldest daughter of the Mehra family is getting the wedding of her dreams in Udaipur. She would be marrying Kabir Malik, the person she worked for as his secretary and the two eventually fell in love.

"From your silence, I am guessing you haven't...Seriously Aisha, if you don't come home within the next thirty minutes then mujhse bura koi nahi hoga. You have a lot of work to do here too, you need to take your sangeet blouse for alteration and-"

"Haan mom! I know." Aisha interrupted the elder woman, sighing. "I will only be able to
leave if you hang up and let me. Now stop worrying, and take some rest, please." With that being said, she hung up and slipped her phone in the pocket.

As a curse word escaped her lips, the tensed Aisha took a deep breath and took the enchanting view of the sunset as a distraction.

Aditi stepped forward, her brows lifted at the girl's behavior.

"Why are desi weddings this stressful?" Aisha muttered, as the anxiety of the several responsibilities awaiting her slowly killed her. "I don't even know what to wear to the engagement ceremony, and I have to look after Mahi, go to the tailor, make sure I don't forget to pack anything and complete my work too!"

Aditi patted the tensed girl's shoulders, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Come on, your work is almost done, I will do the rest. Go home, Aunty and Uncle are waiting for you."

"It would be so much easier if you were coming with me. My family would be more relaxed and less stressed."

Aditi chuckled, nudging her on the shoulder. "I promise I will be there as soon as chacha-chachi are back from their work trip. You know I can't leave Dadi alone, she just recovered and I don't want anything to happen to her in my absence."

Aisha nodded at the valid reason, hoping that her best friend would be soon by her side to help her and she wished for the preparations to go smoothly too.
