THIRD PERSON POV
The white duvet underneath the queen-sized bed could barely be seen. It seemed as if Aisha had emptied all of her belongings on the bed. The brown bag, now empty, had been thoroughly packed just a second ago.
Before the Mehra family left Jaipur, Aisha threw everything she could find in her bag that she would later need. It was sort of last minute and very unplanned, which is why she had no idea where her laptop's charger was.
She sighed, leaning against the wooden desk, arms resting on her waist. After a good night's sleep, she woke up early to work on some designs, only to find her laptop low on battery, realizing she might have forgotten to pack the charger.
Interrupting her train of thought, the doorbell rang. She glanced at the watch behind her head and furrowed her brows together in perplexity.
It was too early for her to expect someone. Putting an end to her worries, she strolled to the door and pulled the knob, prompting it to open inwards.
"Good morning, Aisha." Said a cheerful Mahi, the smile on her lips wide. Responding with a similar expression, the girl moved aside for the elder one to enter.
"Morning."
After taking a few steps from the entrance, Mahi's expression underwent a transformation after her gaze fell on the bed. She widened her eyes at the unexpected mess. Plenty of hair products, pairs of socks, pens, lipsticks, and many other things covered the duvet. Blinking, she looked over her shoulders at her sister, confused.
"I am trying to find my laptop charger..." She explained, at which Mahi suddenly chuckled.
"Ohh, that's in my bag. You accidentally packed it in mine."
Aisha breathed a sigh of relief in response to the girl's statement and settled into the chair, feeling calm once more, while Mahi instantly grabbed the brown bag and began to put things back inside it.
"Now that your problem is solved, get changed and accompany me to breakfast. We are all going downstairs within a few minutes...many guests have started to arrive already."
Aisha's nightmare was slowly coming true, for the upcoming few days she would have to plaster a fake smile on her face and entertain the majority of her guests whom she disliked.
"Mahi, I have a lot of work right now. The function begins tomorrow and I want to finish most of my work before then. I am not coming with you."
Mahi shook her head in disapproval even though she was already expecting a similar response from Aisha.
"Aisha-"
"No Mahi, please." She groaned, a frown forming on her lips. "I am not in a mood right now to entertain anyone."
She was righteous. From the previous evening, the girl had been quite grumpy as she had a differ with the owner of the hotel, Zeeshan. Hence, she intends to keep the bitterness to herself and be alone for as long as she can.
"Fine!" Mahi exclaimed, surrendering her hands in the air at the stubbornness. "But you are coming to the dinner party tonight."
"Dinner party?" She asked.
"Yup!" Mahi nodded. "Zeeshan has organized a dinner party for just us family members, isn't that so sweet of him?
'Yeah, right!' She thought to herself.
"Actually, I can't...I am not feeling well-"
"Cut it out Aisha, you are coming tonight, end of discussion."
