THIRD PERSON POV

Aisha and Aditi left the dinner party ahead of the others, making their way to Aisha's room to discuss the day's events in private. With a warm blanket wrapped around them, the two stared into nothingness from a great height.

"I am glad you are here," Aisha expressed, her lips twitching upward.

Aditi responded with a similar expression, leaning her head against the taller one's shoulder. "Yeah, I'm glad too that I won't miss any of the ceremonies..."

Initially, Aditi planned to stay a few more days in Jaipur to look after her grandmother as she had recently recovered from illness. Aditi's uncle and aunt, with whom she lived, had been on a work trip since last week, hence she was the only one present to assist her grandma.

Surprisingly, the two returned earlier than Aditi expected and reassured her that they would take care of the elder lady. To avoid missing any functions, which would begin the very next day, Aditi left Jaipur.

She found joy in not missing Mahi's important events, as Mahi was like an elder sister to her, providing support since Aditi's parents passed away. After a tragic accident that occurred when she was in college, she often found herself going to the Mehra residence for comfort.

The Mehra family treated her as their own, always including her in their celebrations. Aditi had always cherished the memories she created with them and is impatient to create more.

"I can't believe Mahi is getting engaged tomorrow," Aisha said, still in disbelief.

"Neither can I," Aditi chuckled. "Chal, let's go back inside and arrange our outfits for tomorrow."

Aisha and Mahi's mother gazed at them with admiration, tears glistening in the her eyes. The two girls were adorned in traditional attire, preparing for the ceremony in front of the mirror.

It was the day Mahi and Kabir would get engaged. There was happiness in the aroma, everyone was dressed up and covered in beautiful jewelry from head to toe to celebrate. While all the relatives were already downstairs, dancing and enjoying themselves in the hotel's garden, where the function would take place, the Mehra girls, along with their mother, were the only ones present in the room.

"Mahi, you look very pretty." The elder one complimented, tilting her head.

Smiling at her mother, Mahi lifted her gaze and sighed in relief. She took a peek at her reflection, staring down at her outfit. She was adorned in a pastel-blue lehenga. Everything about it, from the color to the designs, was gorgeous and with the help of her sister, it was styled beautifully.

The sheer dupatta was pinned from her shoulder to her waist, slightly covering the thick-strapped blouse and rounded neckline. She wore big silver earrings that matched the embroidered skirt and paired them with a long necklace that was gifted by Kabir's mother. To keep the theme going, she added a beautiful blue and green peacock hairpiece behind her head to keep the bun in its place and make it look classy. Her glittery eyes and pink lips enhanced the overall elegance. Mahi looked breathtaking and no one could say otherwise. With a smile lingering on her lips, she stayed seated on the wooden chair, wondering how Kabir would react upon seeing her.

"Aisha, you look pretty as well." Her mother said, gently cupping her daughter's face in her hands.

Blinking in gratitude at the compliment, Aisha met her gaze in the mirror and smiled from ear-to-ear. The grey lehenga she wore, fit her like a glove, as if it were made just for her. The scalloped hem skirt was beautifully embroidered with flowers and leaves, complemented by some very exquisite mirror work. The matching blouse with a plunging neckline added an alluring touch. The sheer dupatta draped stylishly from arm to arm, enhancing the overall charm. The tones of brown and shimmer on her eyes matched beautifully with the nudes on her lips, making it elegant. To complete the look, she paired her outfit with a silver choker, some small jhumkis, and a maangtika that adorned the partition of her hair that was left loose.

It was an understatement to say that Aisha looked stunning.

"I will go send Aditi and Kiara upstairs. Descend with them in a few minutes for your entry." Mahi nodded at her mother's words and watched her hurriedly leave the room.

A family wedding comes with its challenges, and for the bride's parents, like Mahi's, it's undoubtedly a stressful experience. Mahi understood the rush her parents were feeling while preparing for the ceremony since she had been experiencing something similar for quite a few days.

"Mahi, are you okay?" Aisha asked, aware of her sister's habit of overthinking unnecessarily.

"Yeah." She sighed. "I'm just a bit nervous. I'm very happy too, but it feels very different. I was stressing about the engagement just a few hours ago, and now I'm finally about to get engaged. I just can't believe it."

With a soft smile grazing her lips, Aisha leaned against the dresser, holding her sister's shoulder to reassure her.

"I can understand. The time is passing by quickly and I get that you are nervous, but Mahi, I promise everything will go smoothly and there isn't anything to worry about. The garden is decorated nicely, the guests are satisfied and Kabir is downstairs just waiting for his lovely soon-to-be bride. Put your worries aside and enjoy as much as you can. It's your day after all, let others stress a bit for a change."

Mahi chuckled at her, feeling calmer than before. "You are right." She mumbled. "I shouldn't worry anymore...jo hoga dekha jayega."(we'll see what happens)

Mahi suddenly flinched as the door was barged open and a very excited Aditi walked in with an equally enthusiastic Kiara trailing behind.

"Oh my god, I regret giving you the key card! You guys scared me!" Mahi exclaimed, only to be ignored by the two.

"YOU BOTH LOOK SO PRETTY!!" Aditi said, her hand flying to her mouth in surprise. "Mahi, kitni jaldi badi hogayi tum, (Mahi, how quickly you've grown up ) can't believe you are getting engaged!"

Rolling her eyes at the dramatic statement, Mahi shared a chuckle with Aisha.

"If you guys are done being dramatic, can we take a selfie?" Kiara asked, at which everyone nodded.

The two ambled toward the dresser and shifted closer to the Mehra sisters. Aditi bent a bit, closer to the chair Mahi was seated on and Kiara stood behind it, beside Aisha. Kiara raised her arm upwards, and they smiled at the lens, posing and tilting their heads.

Each of them held a distinct connection with one another, yet each bond was equally significant and lovely.
