When Vegas and the others walked through the gate Vegas tried to ignore that some of the kids were curiously looking at them

"Do you think one of them is ours?" Macau asked Pete quietly

"I mean... one of the should be, but I don't know if he's among these kids" Pete shrugged

"Ours..." Vegas muttered quietly, still lowkey hoping that this whole thing is just a really bad dream, hoping he will wake up in his bed next to Pete and make him laugh by telling him how crazy dream he had

"They kind of look like puppies... you know the ones in the pet store, behind the glass. I always have to drag Chay out of there because when he sees them he really wants to adopt one" Macau told Pete when he saw how some of them kids were looking at them

"Let's try not to adopt any that isn't actually ours" Pete said, but he felt bad while saying it because he felt sorry for the kids there, hoping that they will end up in a loving family that will take care of them

"We might not adopt any" Vegas looked at them "He might not even be here. Or he might actually love it here and will want to stay here" he added

"If he does have a family already... I will definitely want to make sure what kind of family that is and if he will seem to be happy with them then... then I don't know" Pete sighed

"I am telling you there is no way dad would risk losing the track of him" Macau told them while they were entering the building

"Now go. I'll deal with Gavin later but this goes for both of you. No more fighting" some woman was talking to a boy who had a bruise on his cheek. It didn't look like she was the one who made the bruise, it looked like she caught the boys in a middle of settling some argument and now she was telling him that it's not ok to use violence for that

"I didn't start it I just fought back" the boy frowned

"I don't care who started it. I said that there will be no more fighting" the woman crossed her hands over her chest and the boy huffed in annoyance. Something told Vegas that this was not the first time he was in that situation because he looked annoyed at listening what she was saying. If the boy was right and he was really just fighting back that Vegas understood why it was frustrating being told you can't fight back.

"Excuse me, can I help you?" the woman noticed them and walked up to them. Vegas was watching the boy disappearing in another room and had a really, really bad feeling. Bad feeling that Venice was indeed still here, that no one adopted him. He had a bad feeling that Venice was here being told he can't fight back when someone else starts a fight with him

"Vegas?" Pete said his name and when Vegas looked at him he was sure Pete tried to get his attention more than once by saying his name

"Hm?" Vegas asked, looking around, trying to see the boy again but didn't see him anywhere. Maybe he was wrong. All kids look the same after all so this didn't have to be his son.

"Let's go talk to Khun Lin?" Pete asked, as if reminding Vegas what they were doing there. The woman that was talking to the kid and then noticed them was no longer there so Pete and Macau had to talk to her and find out where Lin's office was while Vegas was too distracted to pay attention to them

"Are you ok?" Macau asked concern and there was no way Vegas would bring himself to say yes to that question. He was far from being ok and since he couldn't say yes to that he just nodded a bit and followed them in the direction of the woman's office

"Come in" a female voice called them in when Pete knocked on the door

When they entered the found the woman sitting behind a desk, going over some papers
