"Shouldn't you be at school?" Vegas muttered when he entered the kitchen. He looked exactly how he was feeling. Like crap. He got no sleep whatsoever and it did show. He wanted to believe Pete when he said that everything will be alright but he just wasn't able to calm down enough to fall asleep
"Jeez Vegas, let Venice live, he just got here and you're..." Macau rolled his eyes
"I was talking to you" Vegas said while going to the coffee machine to get a cup of coffee and looked over his shoulder to look at his brother when Macau was suddenly suspiciously quiet "Aren't you supposed to have the coding exam today?" Vegas raised an eyebrow
"But this is a family emergency. I have to be here for Venice, right buddy? Look how traumatized he looks... help me out and look more traumatized... or at least a little bit actually..." Macau turned to his nephew who looked anything but traumatized while eating his cereals
"Don't you dare to use my... the kid as an excuse to skip school" Vegas shook his head "Go on. Go and you better make it on time to take the exam" he gestured to Macau to stand up and go to school
"Haha... oh wait you're not joking? Ok, fine" Macau rolled his eyes and stood up "See you later, buddy" he patted Venice's shoulder on his way out
"Good luck with the exam" Venice wished him and Macau thanked him
"If he actually studied he isn't going to need luck" Vegas muttered and took a sip of his coffee, hoping it will help him to start function after a night of no sleep
"Where's Pete?" he asked, not liking that it was just him and Venice in the room
"He's refilling the hummingbird feeder" Venice said and Vegas nodded and left the room to go find his boyfriend
"Why did Macau look like he was not about to go to school today?" Vegas asked when he found Pete standing by the feeder and smiling while watching the birds
"I told him that there is no chance you would let him skip school" Pete chuckled without looking away from the cute animals
"Of course not" Vegas muttered and hugged Pete from behind and rested his chin on Pete's shoulder
"I told Venice we will head out after everyone will be done with their breakfast" Pete turned his head to look at Vegas
"I am not going" Vegas shooks his head
"Vegas..."
"I have to take a look at the deal we want to make with the Gao family" Vegas said
"It can wait, Vegas" Pete turned to him
"It can't. You'll have Khun there with you so he'll help you" Vegas shook his head and Pete sighed because knew that Vegas is not going with them
"Alright... but I will not let you do this for much longer" Pete said and Vegas nodded a bit before he kissed Pete and moved away and disappeared inside
Pete sighed again took one last look at the cute little birds and then went inside
"So... how are we doing? Are you done with your breakfast?" Pete smiled at Venice who was just placing the bowl in the sink
"Yeah" Venice nodded
"So let's head out then" Pete nodded "Khun will meet us at the mall" he added and Venice nodded
"Vegas isn't coming with us, is he?" Venice asked when they were going to the car but Vegas was still nowhere to be seen
"He would love to but there is something he needs to take care of" Pete said hoping he sounded convincingly while saying it but he felt that Venice knew that the reason why Vegas wasn't there was because he still was not feeling up to take up the role of a father just yet
