The next morning before school I was sitting on the couch watching TV when someone took the remote. " I'll make your life hell Luke just like you made mine." Said Emily as she took the batteries out of the remote. I knew she was mad so I tried to stay relaxed about it. Through the whole day whenever we ran onto eachother in the hall she would shoot my dirty looks. I was sitting at lunch with my friends and noticed that Emily's friends weren't sitting with her I felt bad so I took my tray and sat with her. " Get lost looser I don't need your sympathy." She said spitting in my face. I just left so I wouldn't cause any problems. I on the bus Emily kept throwing paper balls at my head which ticked me off but I decided to just stay calm. As soon as me, Emily, and Ava walled inside Emily stormed up to her room. " Emily is really mad." Said Ava. " I know but she will come around." I said. After a few hours I decided to try and talk to her. I walked up to her room and knocked on the door nervously. "Em can I come in please I think we need to talk." I said. "Fine but if you piss me off I'll smother you with a pillow." She said as I walked in her room and sat on the bed next to her. " Emily what's gotten up with you?" I asked. " I don't know all I do I stupid things deep down I know that dad is right. I'm sorry by the way I didn't me what I said and I have been acting like a bully all day long." She said sounding sincere. "I miss how things once were we were do close what happened?" I asked. "Mom died and now I'm this angry ticking bomb I'm such a mess." She said. " It's okay Emily really you just can't do stupid stuff like smoking weed and cigarettes." I said. " I know I threw it all away I promise." She said. I smiled at hearing this. " You're so chill and perfect you have no secrets and you don't ever make mistakes I wish I was like you." She said. " I'm not perfect and I do kind of have a secret." I said. "No way mr straight A's is hinding something what is it anything juicy I have loads of juicy secrets." She said nudging me. "I've been hiding something for like 2 years now and didn't tell anyone." I said staring at her bed sheet." Damn do tell some on." She said. "I'm gay." I whispered. " You're gay?" She asked again for clarification. " Yeah and I have been for so long." I said. She looked at me and smiled. " I always thought you were I'm glad I'm the first person you told." She said smiling widley. She hugged me and that was the first hug she gave me in months. I hugged her back. "I'm really sorry if I ever made you feel like you weren't good enough that you couldn't tell me "she said. " It's okay I'm just glad we are friends." I said. "You can talk to me at school could I actually join you at lunch tomorrow?" She asked. I smiled and nodded. I left her room after a few minutes and I was happy that we had that conversation because we needed it badly. I was also glad that I finally told someone the secret I have been hiding for years.
