Yoko's POV
"Yo, come on!" Bright called to me, heading off and leaving the crowd of people who were cheering and celebrating our yearly feast. While I was enjoying the vibe and trying to keep up with everyone, I suddenly realized I had lost sight of Bright.
Where is he? I think I'm lost.
People kept shouting and cheering, making it impossible to spot him. Crap! I lost him!
The crowd started pushing, and I was carried to the left side. The shoving and yelling continued.
Oh my God, help! I think I'm going to be crushed. I'm afraid this is going to turn into a stampede. The pushing got so intense that I almost lost my sight from slight suffocation. I wanted to climb over the big tiled cement barrier, but it was too high!
"Let me help you, kid," a woman on the other side signaled, reaching out her arms to pull me over the crowd. There was a small cemented wall dividing us, and I was stuck in a tight spot where I was standing. People kept pushing toward the exit.
Desperate, I offered myself to her, and she grabbed my arms, lifting me up to safety. Thank God she lifted me up!
"Are you okay?" she asked as I bent over, taking deep breaths. I almost lost consciousness from the suffocation.
" I'm fine... Thank you," I said, lifting my head. I was amazed by her beauty! Was she really the one who saved me?
"That's good. Take care and avoid getting caught in big crowds," she said, then left. I watched her walk away. She had a boyish style, long hair, and a face that was both pretty and handsome.
I tried to find Bright but couldn't see him anywhere. There was no network coverage in our area because of the festival. Damn! I went to a mall instead to chill, even though it was crowded.
"Yo!" I heard Bright's voice and saw him waving at me. Thank God! He found me!
We headed to the place where our classmates were partying.
"My aunt from Korea is here! Let me introduce you to her. She's the coolest aunt ever," he said before leaving me again. I spotted one of my closest friends and went over to her.
When Bright returned with his aunt, my eyes widened in shock—it was the woman who had saved me!
"Aunt, this is Yoko, my classmate. Yoko, this is Aunt Faye," he said, and she offered her hand for a shake.
"I'm Faye. You look familiar," she said. Up close, she was even more stunning, and I couldn't take my eyes off her.
Is she even real? Her beauty is out of this world.
"Uh—yeah, you actually helped me in the crowd earlier," I said, realizing I had been holding her hand for too long.
She glanced at our hands, and I quickly let go. Crap!
"Sorry!" I muttered, and she gave a faint smile.
"It's okay," she responded, and we headed to the party.
She was relaxed and calm, just sitting at our table while we danced and chanted.
"Pit Senyor!" I chanted, glancing at her from a distance. She was pretty handsome, to be honest. She ordered drinks for everyone, making sure we had a blast.
"Bright, is your aunt married?" I asked while dancing with everyone.
"Hahaha, nope! She's not straight, you know!" he said, laughing and cheering with our classmates.
