Faye's POV

I rushed him to the hospital before the medication could take over his entire system. He had attempted to overdose. Damn, my sister would be furious if she found out.

Fortunately, he was saved in time.

I informed my sister and apologized about the situation and recommended that he stay in rehab since he wasn't thinking clearly anymore. Knowing I couldn't stay in Cebu for long, my sister agreed and hired someone to care for him and visit him at the rehab.

Sadly, he ended up like this.

What if I end up in the same situation?

When I returned to work in Korea, Engfa greeted me with visible excitement.

"Hey, you're back! How was your week?" she asked. I was surprised by her calm demeanor.

She had only stayed at our place for a month and admitted that Bright had given her my address because she wanted to surprise me.

"I'm doing a bit better. Bright is now in rehab because he couldn't cope with their breakup and he impregnated Marissa," I said. Her face showed complete shock.

"Really?!" she exclaimed, disbelief evident in her voice.

"Yes, it's been a stressful week. But I'll still check on my nephew from time to time," I said

We were inside the elevator and when it finally opened, we settled ourselves into work.

It was a relief that she didn't bother me. I noticed a new officemate, though I didn't know her name yet. She was pretty and had given everyone a warm greeting.

"When was she hired and what's her name?" I asked Freen in the cubicle next to mine.

"Oh, that's Charlotte, Miss Engfa's secretary. Since you didn't want to take the role she offered years ago, Charlotte was hired a month ago. Engfa's mood has improved a lot since she arrived. I think something's going on between them," Freen smiled and grinned at me.

What?!

Anyway, that's good to hear—at least no one will bother me with their problems now.

I observed that Engfa treated Charlotte very well, and during lunch, I saw them eating together and sharing food.

A pang of sadness hit me. I remembered sharing a meal with Yoko at Circa—that was the first and last time we did so.

I checked my social media, but there were still no messages from her.

Damn!

I'm so frustrated not knowing what's happening with her. I wish my feelings for her were the same as before, that I could easily ignore her and move on like nothing happened. But I still miss her deeply. Today, it feels like I'm becoming obsessed—or maybe I'm just going crazy. But the truth is, my feelings haven't changed.

How did this happen? I've fallen for her even more.

When I got home, I decided to call her for the first time since her social media was inactive. Maybe an international call would work.

RING... RING...

Yoko, why are you doing this to me? What did you do to make me feel this way?

RING... RING...

"Hello?" a man's voice answered.

"Uh, is this Big?" I asked.

"Nope. I'm Tuck, Yoko's friend. She's currently in the bathroom. I answered the call because the phone kept ringing. Who's this?" he asked.
