Faye's POV
DING DONG...
DING DONG...
We were in the dining room, enjoying the meal I had prepared earlier. The atmosphere was a bit tense since Bright, Marissa, and Engfa were there with me. I had cooked chicken curry and chicken adobo, knowing they were Bright and Engfa's favorites.
"I'll get it," I said as I heard the doorbell ring. I stood up and left the table, making my way to the door.
The maids had gone to the grocery store, so there was no one else to answer.
When I opened the gate, there stood Yoko.
"Yoko?" I exclaimed, my eyes widening as I saw her.
My heart raced when she smiled at me. I was momentarily taken aback, captivated by her beauty.
"You're not going to let me in? Or are you just going to stand there and stare? haha," she said with a smirk.
My senses returned, and...
"Why did you come here?" I asked, trying to keep my voice steady as she walked toward the entrance, with me following slowly behind her.
She didn't respond.
I hesitated to follow her inside because I didn't know what to say if Bright saw us together. I wasn't sure how to handle this complicated situation.
Can I just go back to Korea?
Ugh!
After several minutes outside, I suddenly heard someone speaking behind me.
"Why are you out here?" Engfa asked as she approached. I was sitting on a chair in the garden.
"Uh, I'm done eating. I just wanted some fresh air," I replied, and she gave me a curious look.
"Yoko is inside. Join us, or are you avoiding something?" she teased with a smirk.
As I looked at her, I noticed something in my peripheral vision. I saw Bright, Marissa, and Yoko approaching together.
"Auntie, let's go to Jpark. I want to relax," Bright said, wrapping his arm around Yoko.
"Yes, Aunt Faye. It'll be fun!" Marissa chimed in.
"Yeah, Faye, I'd like to explore there too," Engfa added.
I nodded, feeling like I didn't have much of a choice.
We went to Jpark Resort, and everything was beautiful. The view and the pool were captivating. I knew Bright was trying to make me jealous by getting close to Yoko, but I also knew they were in a relationship. I was trying to keep my feelings in check, but deep down, I wished I were the one holding Yoko.
"The drinks are on me. Come on, Yoko, help me with those drinks, please," Engfa said, grabbing her wrist.
I could see it in Yoko's face—she didn't want to be with Engfa, but with Bright and Marissa unaware of what had happened before, she reluctantly agreed to go with her, leaving the three of us alone by the pool.
"Good, Auntie," Bright said, slinging his arm over my shoulder.
"Don't tell her about our affair, and I won't reveal your betrayal. Mom would be furious if she found out everything," he added while I stared off into the distance.
I couldn't let things spiral out of control for either of them. I knew he was acting out of anger, that's why he slept with Marissa but revenge wasn't the answer. We were both at fault—drunk and unable to control our buried feelings.
