I woke up in a happy mood this morning. The time is nine o'clock. Missy and I have plans to go to the mall, and then I have a few clients scheduled throughout the afternoon and evening. While sipping on a cup of coffee, I make an omelet filled with cheese, sausage, and some shredded potatoes, and then I start to get dressed. As I'm finishing up my look for the day, I hear my phone vibrate. It's two texts, one from Dezman and the other from Missy. Dezman's text reads...
-Good morning, beautiful. I hope your day goes alright.
-Thank you, Dezman :) What are your plans for today, if you don't mind me asking?
He replies quickly.
-I don't, and I'm just hanging with the crew today, and then I'll be tatting later tonight. Are you working later?
-I am. I'll be working at the salon.
-Alright. I'll be in touch.
I texted back, saying okay, and then I texted Missy back, letting her know that I'm leaving my condo and that I'd meet her at the mall's entrance.
When I arrived at the mall, I saw her getting out of her car, so I walked over to her. We hugged, and then we headed in to do some shopping. I had become very close to Missy, and I had already filled her in on the real reason that I moved here. I felt I could trust her. We had tons in common, one of which was our age, so we understood each other a lot.
Before we leave the mall, we sit for a bite to eat, and I mention Dezman to her. I start by saying, "So you remember when we went to Vinny's that day, and then we walked over to the basketball court?"
*Missy*
Yeah.
*Ciana*
"Well, I don't know if you noticed, but I kind of had a stare down with one of the guys on the court."
I start to giggle; she's looking at me funny, wondering where I'm going with this. I give her the rundown about everything and how he approached me at Vinny's. Her eyes are smiling at me as she chews through her food, then she asks...
*Missy*
So, what happened after that?
*Ciana*
"He just started talking to me, and he was really polite. Before he left, he invited me to a game, and I wasn't going to go, but... Anyway, he left something behind, and I decided I would return it to him out of the kindness of my heart."
She cuts me off from speaking any further to let me know she's listening, but that she's not really buying it.
*Missy*
Uh Huh. Keep going.
*Ciana*
I'm giggling even more at this point because she isn't cutting me any slack or going to feed into how I'm serving her this information, which leads me to ask her...
"Why are you saying it like that??"
*Missy*
Just finish your story, girl. I'm curious to see where this is going.
*Ciana*
"So, somehow, while there, we exchange numbers, and I meet him later for a date. Everything went great. I can't lie, Missy. I think I may be starting to like him. Just a little."
She starts to laugh at me, and I'm laughing with her.
*Missy*
Girl please! Anyway, what's his name?
