On Saturday, Dezman and I spent lots of quality time together doing all sorts of different things. After eating breakfast, he took me to a museum, and we spent a lot of time there. I became interested in all of Chicago's history. Before we left there, we sat inside a cafe and had lunch. He then decided to take me to the zoo. On the way there, we stopped and got some binoculars and a nice camera because I wanted to take some pictures while we were there.
Once we arrived at the zoo, we went on a tour, and then we went to watch a dolphin show, which was amazing. After that, we went through a few exhibits. I loved the butterfly one, and I could tell Dezman watched closely at the "Big Cat's" one, which included lions and tigers.
Before we left, we went into a few gift shops, where we picked up the most random of things that we'd probably just shove into the closet somewhere and never see again. It was just all in the moment. We even grabbed two huge safari hats, and we put them on. We began pointing at one another, laughing, because we looked silly with them on. Dezman started imitating one of the tour men, and it was really tickling me. I told him we were starting to draw attention to ourselves because I couldn't stop laughing at him, so we stopped acting out. When we stopped at the last gift shop, we decided to get wildlife ID tags engraved. Dezman's said, "keeping it G at the safari," and mine said, "flying high with the butterflies."
As we made our way out of the zoo, we made one final stop at a food spot. It smelled so good that I couldn't just walk past it. We both got two Chicago-style hotdogs each, and they were so good. When we got to the huge sign that said "Brookfield Zoo," I told Dezman that I wanted us to take a picture there together. He grabbed one of the workers to take the picture for us, and the photo was beautiful.
We got back into the car, and I couldn't believe it was already evening. Dezman told me that we were going to go home and get changed because he had one other place that he wanted to take me to tonight, and since the temperature was starting to get a little chilly and it was windy as well, he thought it was best. This entire day had been perfect, and I was really looking forward to whatever he had planned next.
When we got to the apartment, I changed my clothing, and then we stopped by my place so that I could change into some black high-top sneakers because Dezman didn't think the heels that I was wearing would be the best choice. I was curious as to where we were going on the drive, and when I asked him, he said the Navy Pier. I asked him what that was, and he told me, "You'll see," and I did. When we arrived, I saw all the lights, and there were people everywhere.
We made our way to the park area, where we played mini golf, and we got on this huge Ferris wheel. It was very romantic, although when we got to the top, it became very terrifying for me, but Dezman kept me calm with his words, and he distracted me with kisses.
After the Ferris wheel ride, we got on a speed boat that took us around for a tour that lasted about thirty minutes. We then went over to another boated area, where Dezman told me that we were going to eat while it cruised around. Once we got on the boat, it was so nice. There was entertainment, and it just had a chill setting. I couldn't stop smiling at Dezman. It was obvious that I was in love, and so was he. We had even received some compliments from people on how good-looking a couple we were.
After we were done with eating and my third glass of champagne was down, I felt like dancing with Dezman, so I pulled him up from his chair, and we went over to a dancing area. I challenged him first, as I gave him the show me what you got look, and I was shocked when he hit a dance move. It was hilarious, and afterwards I could tell he wished that he had never done it. It was that embarrassed laugh from noticing that people were looking at him, but I knew they were looking because he looked good doing it. Really all that mattered anyway was that we were having a carefree, good time.
Once we got back to the car and away from all the noise, I thanked him for the whole day, and we shared the longest hug ever. It was the perfect ending to both a perfect day and a date night.
On Sunday, Shonda and I decided to cook a huge dinner for our guys while they went to shoot around at the court and work out. It took us just about all day to shop, prep, and cook, but it was worth it. We set up the table with all the food that we had made. Shonda made BBQ chicken, macaroni and cheese, some collard greens, and a chocolate cake. I made pot roast, some homemade butter rolls, my Spanish rice, and some banana pudding.
Dezman and Teek walk in just as we're finishing the setup, and they get all excited, like it's their birthday. After they both showered, we all sat down to eat, and Shonda asked Dezman and me about the day we had previously. I told them starting from the beginning, and when I got to the part about our dancing later in the night, they both started laughing.
*Shonda*
Dezman was dancing on the dance floor?!
*Ciana*
"He did a few steps."
I look over at Dezman, focused on his food.
*Teek*
D, you went Temptations on 'em?
*Dezman*
You know how I do.
*Ciana*
We all started to laugh.
*Shonda*
Girl, I wish that I was there to see that.
*Ciana*
When we finished eating, the guys thanked us and told us how delicious everything was. Shonda and I cleaned up after telling them that we didn't need any help, although at first they insisted on it, but we shooed them away. I said my goodbyes shortly after, and I left. It was time to go get ready for another busy work week.
