He's so beautiful—no, stop. I can't think like that.

"Right, Hawks?" Toga smiles at me expectantly. I realize I've been staring at Dabi sleeping for the past five minutes.

"Sorry, what was that? I guess I zoned out for a bit."

"Yeah, zoned out staring at Dabi," she teases, "you like him, don't you."

"It's not like that."

"Like what?" she laughs.

"Toga, I'm serious; it's not like that."

"Okay then, wha-" Toga begins but is interrupted by Dabi's Groggy Voice, "What's not like what?"

"Nothing," I say, glaring at Toga.

"Yeah, nothing," Toga chuckles, slowly exiting the room.

"Shut up and let me sleep, dickheads."

"Yeah, sorry about that, Dabs."

"Dabs?" Dabi looks at me, bewildered.

"Yep, Dabs," I chuckle awkwardly. "Well, I'm just gonna go now."

I make my way to my room. It's nice that I have a room here at the base. It's so much better than having to return to the solitude of my empty apartment. When I get back to my room I flop onto my bed. I stare up at the empty walls, I should really buy some posters or something for in here.

I roll over trying to let the exhaustion take over, but images of Dabi keep flashing through my head. I'm sick of this crush. It's annoying. When I'm around him I act like a shy schoolgirl. But I can't help it, he makes me happy. I haven't been happy since Toya.

...

"Come on," I groan down to Toya.

"I'm not the one with wings," he grumbles, climbing out the window to join me on the roof.

"Here, take my hand," I offer with a laugh.

He takes my hand, and with a pull, he stumbles over me. His smile beams down, and warmth floods my cheeks.

"You're blushing," he murmurs in my ear.

"Shut up!" I chuckle, nudging him away. He tumbles beside me on the roof, both of us laughing.

"The view is breathtaking tonight," I sigh, gazing up at the stars.

"It really is," Toya agrees, his gaze fixed on me.

"Yeah?" I ask, rolling over to meet his eyes.

"Yea," he whispers, leaning in to gently press our lips together.

He draws back slowly, "I love you, Keigo."

I smile and kiss him again, "I love you, Toya."

We lie there on the roof, gazing into each other's eyes until sunrise.

...

"Hey Hawks, you hungry?" Dabi inquires, pushing my bedroom door open. I swiftly sit up, brushing away the tears from my eyes.

He clears his throat, "Uh, I'm ordering from DoorDash. Do you want anything?"

"Uh yea, I could go for some chicken nuggets, please," I respond awkwardly, doing my best to avoid eye contact.

"Sure." He departs, gently shutting the door behind him. A second later, the door creaks open. "Uh, are you okay?" he inquires.

"Yes, I'm fine," I reply, mustering a strained smile.

"If you need to talk, I'm here," he offers.

"Okay," I say, this time with a sincere smile.

"Okay," he echoes, smiling back before he closes the door softly.

Hi, I hope you enjoyed this. Unfortunately, I had to rewrite this because it was deleted but I really loved some parts of this story, so I'm taking my time to rewrite it. This is going to be a relatively short fic and I'll try to update often since it's summer and I have nothing better to do.

-Sincerely the author, Marigold.
