I wake up to a knock at my door.

"Come in," I respond.

"Hey, I brought your chicken nuggets," Dabi announces as he approaches.

"You decided to knock this time," I tease, laughing.

"Yeah, uh, sorry about that, birdie," he apologizes, sitting on the bed and placing the chicken nuggets in my lap.

"Nah, it's cool," I say with a grin, getting lost in his gaze That looks exactly like Toya's. Toya's eyes were always the highlight for me; I could gaze into those ocean blues forever. They matched the hue of his flames—every flicker of fire brings Toya to mind. Reflecting on it, Toya and Dabi really do share a striking resemblance. It's almost as if they're two peas in a pod, or in their case, two flames from the same fire.

Turning away, I realized I had been staring at Dabi for too long.

"What was that about earlier?" he inquires, snatching a chicken nugget from me.

"Wow, how gentle," I retort sarcastically, "and eat your own food, jerk."

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to," he remarks casually, reaching for another nugget.

"Stop eating my nuggets," I protest, batting his hand away, "but earlier, I was just thinking about an old friend."

Tears well up in my eyes, and I turn away, not wanting him to see me cry again.

"I'm guessing he meant a lot to you," he observes softly.

"Yes, he did," I pause, wiping my eyes, "He was my everything, and then one day, he was just gone."

Glancing up at Dabi, I notice a look of guilt on his face, though I'm puzzled as to why.

"I'm sorry," he mutters, turning his gaze away.

"It's okay, it's not your fault," I reassure him.

He places his arm around my shoulder, and we sit in silence. I wish this moment could last forever.

Just a short little update, so far I'm liking the way this is turning out but it's just not the same as the first one I wrote and it's really bumming me out so I'm trying to write as much as I can before I forget everything. But I hope u enjoyed this short chapter.
