Looking out the window of the train, I glanced at the bustling main street below. Vendors were putting out signs, and students were on their way to school.
Despite the bright smiles of those below, it didn't affect me at all. People say smiles are contagious, but for me, it just doesn't work that way. For the sake of others, I put on a smile.
Arriving at the school gate, I received multiple stares from students passing by, whispering among themselves.
"Wouldn't she be scolded?"
"Her hair is unusual."
"Is she a transfer?"
Great, on my first day of school, I'm already a weirdo. Sighing mentally, I thought, I guess I just have to get through the whole school year.
"Girls, wait up! I have some latest news!" A girl came running from my side. She stepped on a pebble, losing her balance.
Thankfully, I was just in time to catch her. "Hey there!" I greeted her with a smile. "You need to be careful; you wouldn't want your pretty face to get hurt, would you?" Helping the girl up, I noticed how shy she became compared to her earlier attitude.
"Th-th-thank y-y-you." She bowed before walking off toward her friends.
Well, that was awkward. I blinked, rubbing my neck and wondering if I had made it awkward by saving her.
Making my way to the building, I knocked on the teachers' faculty door and received permission to enter.
After a while in the faculty office, I was introduced to my adviser. We exchanged greetings before heading to the classroom where I would be introduced.
The teacher entered first, gave a brief explanation, and introduced me to the class.
"Good morning students, this is Haraka Okami, transfer student from the city, and she will be your classmate this school year." Cheerfully presenting me to the class.
"I hope we can get along everyone." I smiled. Receiving aw from a few students from the classroom.
"So? How did school went?" Uncle grunted. Receiving my punches.
"The same. As usual." I responded. Sending a few more punches.
"Did you meet new people?" The uncle asked swinging his punch pad over my head while i dodged down.
"If you make my teachers as an exception? Then yeah i did." Throwing a double side punch. To which my uncle winced at the last punch despite the support he is using.
"Well not exactly what i meant, at least you tried." Chuckling he placed his punch pad to his knee. Inhaling and exhaling trying to catch his breath.
We decided end todays training session. When my uncles phone chimed.
Answering the call i went inside to get us some refreshments, cucumber slice tea for me and ginger ale for my uncle.
Heading out back, i handed the ginger ale to uncle as he ended his conversation with the caller.
"I guess i am needed back at the office, turns out one of our new employees accidentally switched the files for the project and handed the wrong papers to the boss." He took a sip from his can. Scrolling through emails and messages.
"And they were chewed out by the manager when he heard the displeased tone of the boss, and they are only given until 3am for everything to be done, or else they're." He clicked his tongue.
"Anyways, i have to go help." He went in the house preparing to go to work. I just sat there on the porch drinking my cucumber slice of ice tea.
After a few minutes uncle finally came down dress in his work outfit with his briefcase in hand, placing it on top of the table.
He opened the fridge "ami, your aunt texted she will be home late as well." He took a sip of the banana milk and took as well his bag heading to the door.
"If you plan to order out there is a place that actually is good, it is called cafe pathos." He took his shoes from the rack and placed them on the ground.
"Sure thing uncle."
"If you need anything just give us a call." Waving his phone with a smile.
Watching him leave i went upstairs to get dress. I plan to spend more time exploring than shutting myself out.
I grabbed a hoodie and my wallet before heading out as well.
Walking around in the quiet road, for sometime has made me realize. I am lost. I sweat dropped.
I have been circling the same alleyway for sometime now.
Trying it one more, i used my phone to help me navigate before i finally. Give up. I leaned back on a wall slowing sliding down.
Crouching i scroll through my phone trying to find a direction using the internet only for my phone to give up.
Shit now i am completely lost. Groaning beneath my breath. Running my hands through my head. With a deadpanned expression.
I decided to return home instead. but the thing is. I don't remember where i was. Crying silently iniside, finally accepting my fate.
I decided to go for one more try and hope i might find something familiar. After walking several times passing by a few closed bars, i stood infront of a abandoned theater.
With words that basically spell out out. 'Ori' whats that supposed to mean. I snorted.
Then all of a sudden i heard a roar of cheer coming within the theater.
Damned they are so loud. But then again, that sounded familiar, i got a feeling there is a fight going on. Brightening up to my conclusion.
To my curiosity i decided to go inside and see what was going on. Damn it look like the one back home. I look at the details of art on walls. Touching them.
To my surprise, despite being abandoned this place looks strong.
Upon entering the building nobody seemed to mind me too much, i just received multiple stares from people wearing matching orange jackets.
Decided to enter through the door to which i was greeted by a loud ear wrenching cheers. Coming from more of the people wearing orange jackets.
