Man or Bear

She went hiking on a day

Illuminated by sun rays.

A dirt road, grass unmowed,

But suddenly, her pacing slowed.

A stop she made so abrupt

When she what was further up.

A tall, strange man with a plan

A slow, long stride he began.

The woman became just so startled.

She turned around and saw a bear waddle

In her direction. She faced a selection

Between the man's or bear's section.

The woman thought for a split second

About the man's and bear's intentions.

She knew what the man wanted from her,

So she figured the bear couldn't be worse.

The bear's actions would be out of defense,

Whereas the man's would be at her expense.

So slowly, but steadily, she approached the bear.

Until the man began a sprint out of nowhere.

He grabbed her shoulders and shook her hard.

Like she was a magic eight ball wishing harm

Upon him, but then, he fell to the ground

Because of the bear who crowned

The side of his head with a paw.

The girl gazed at the bear in awe

As the man lies in a puddle of blood,

That clashes with the dirt, forming mud.

The woman continued her hike

With the bear by her side.

The two were one of a kind,

Helping those who are confined.

And the man who tried

To hurt her died

A horrible death

With a last strained breath.
