Bright scribbled furiously on a pile of documents, his brow furrowed in concentration. The mountain of paperwork towered over him, a constant reminder of the pre-wedding chaos. A sigh escaped his lips, tinged with frustration. "Just a few more files," he muttered to himself, "then I can finally focus on planning our honeymoon."
Suddenly, the office door flew open, and Win, a mischievous glint in his eyes, stood framed in the doorway.
Bright's heart skipped a beat. "Win!" he exclaimed, a smile lighting up his face. The sight of his fiance, even amidst the clutter, was a welcome distraction.
"Hey, Phi Bai," Win purred, using Bright's playful nickname. He sauntered towards his desk, his smile widening as Bright's paperwork woes seemed to fade into the background.
"Shouldn't you be at home, delegating wedding tasks to your army of friends?" Bright teased, gesturing towards the overflowing folders. "I wish I could be more helpful, but…" he trailed off, his voice laced with apology.
Win reached out and cupped Bright's face, his touch a warm caress. "Don't worry about that, Phi," he said softly. "I just wanted to see you."
Bright leaned into Win's touch, a satisfied sigh escaping his lips. "Seeing you is definitely the best part of my day," he confessed, his eyes sparkling with love.
Win's smile faltered slightly. "There's something I need to tell you," he began hesitantly. "I have a trip to South Korea tonight."
Bright's face fell, a flicker of disappointment crossing his features. "South Korea? But…" he trailed off, not wanting to sound possessive.
Sensing Bright's unspoken concern, Win squeezed his hand. "It's just a business thing," he explained. "It shouldn't take more than a couple of days, then I'll be back and we can finalize everything."
A pang of longing tugged at Bright's heart. He hated the idea of spending even a few days apart right before their wedding. But he knew Win wouldn't miss work for anything less than important, and he wouldn't dream of holding him back.
"Alright, Win," he said with a forced smile. "Safe travels, and call me as soon as you land, okay?"
Win grinned, a mischievous glint returning to his eyes. "Of course, Phi Bai. And don't you worry about a thing. When I get back, we'll celebrate your freedom from the paperwork prison with a proper date night."
The promise of a date night, coupled with Win's smile, managed to chase away Bright's disappointment. He leaned in and stole a quick kiss, the lingering warmth a reminder of their impending union.
"Go win over your Korean clients," Bright said, his voice playful. "And hurry back to your soon-to-be husband."
Win chuckled, a soft farewell kiss lingering on Bright's lips. "Wouldn't miss it for the world," he whispered before turning and disappearing out the door as quickly as he arrived.
