Solara lee May Monday June 27,2029 That afternoon~
Driving towards the small café that I found 2 years ago, I hum along to the song playing on the radio as it fills the quiet car. I glanced at the digital clock that read 5:00 PM. The evening sun casts a warm glow over the streets, making the drive feel almost magical. I can't wait to get there and enjoy a peaceful moment.
As I pull into the familiar parking spot, I notice a few more cars than usual. It seems like the café has become a bit more popular since my last visit. I open the door, and the cozy interior instantly makes me feel warm inside. I find a seat by the window, where I can watch the world go by while sipping my favorite drink. The barista, who recognizes me, gives a friendly nod and starts preparing my usual order. As I settle in, I take out my phone and text my friend back.
""Hey Omir, I ran to the café right quick. Make sure everything is in order at the Castle, please." I text Omir before putting my phone away as I see an unfamiliar face walk towards my table with my order in their hand. Realizing it's the waiter, I sit up and smile softly at them. Just then, I catch a familiar scent, the same one I noticed this morning at the bus stop.
I looked around before putting my attention on the waiter, watching her sit my drink down. "Thank you, love." I flashed her a smile before picking up the cup and taking a sip, sighing out in contentment.
"You're welcome. Wave me over if you need anything," she said before leaving to tend to another person.
I wonder where that scent is coming from. It's making my head all oozy, and I'm getting this weird feeling in my stomach. The smell is so sweet, it makes my mouth water—the sweet smell of lavender with a hint of honey.
The scent seems to be getting stronger, almost as if it's drawing me in. I glance around the café, trying to pinpoint its source. My eyes land on a figure sitting in the corner, Making cupcakes . They look up, and our eyes meet. There's an instant recognition, even though I've never seen them before.
I flashed a smile and stood up, walking over to them before sliding into the bar stool that sat in front of the counter. "I don't think I've ever seen you around here." I tapped my finger against the countertop and tilted my head, letting my eyes trail over her face, taking in every detail.
The café was buzzing with soft chatter and the comforting aroma of freshly brewed coffee filled the air. The warm lighting cast a cozy glow, making the moment feel intimate and special. "Ohh, that's cause I barely be around. I'm just picking up the extra shifts," she replied back almost in a soft whisper.
"Ahh, okay. How do you know Grams Abby and Pops Tim?" I asked curiously, watching her move around because I've never seen her around, and I've been coming to the café for about 2 years now.
"They're my best friend Navia's grandparents," she said back to me before putting the small note on the wall for an order.
I nodded, a smile playing on my lips. "That's cool. They're really great people. I've been coming here for a while, and it's like my little escape from the world.
"I can understand that. I didn't catch your name, by the way? I'm Daomi." She held her hand out for me to shake it, and I took it, grasping her small, soft hands in mine, feeling sparks shoot up my arm, making my fingertips tingle.
I smiled, slightly taken aback by the unexpected sensation. "Nice to meet you, Daomi. I'm Solara." As I let go of her hand, I couldn't help but wonder if she felt the same spark. There was something about her that intrigued me, and I found myself looking forward to our next conversation.
I paid for my drink and food before leaving the café, the familiar aroma of coffee lingering in my senses. I walked to my car, the cool breeze brushing against my face. Hopping in, I started the engine and hummed along to a song on the radio, before pulling off headed to the castle. Before long, I heard my phone buzz. I glanced over at it before picking it up, checking to see who it was. Seeing Omir's text, I put the phone down, making a mental note to text him back when I get home.
As I continued driving, the road ahead seemed to stretch endlessly, lined with trees swaying gently in the evening breeze. The sky was painted in hues of orange and pink, creating a picturesque backdrop. The anticipation of reaching the castle and the curiosity about Omir's message lingered in my mind, adding a layer of curiosity to the journey.
Finally, I arrived at the castle, its imposing structure standing tall against the twilight sky. I parked my car and took a moment to appreciate the grandeur of the place. The castle doors creaked open, revealing a grand hallway lit by flickering torches. My footsteps echoed as I ventured further inside, the air filled with a sense of history and mystery.
Just as I was about to head to my room, my phone buzzed again. This time, it was a call from Omir. I answered, curious about what he had to say. "Hey, I just wanted to let you know that there's something important I need to talk to you about. Can we meet?" he said, his voice filled with urgency. Intrigued and slightly concerned, I agreed to meet him at the castle. Little did I know, this encounter would lead to an unexpected adventure that would change everything.
