Solara lee May the same night
After talking with Omir, I let him leave while also leaving the castle, not before telling my mom, the king, and queen, that I was headed for a walk. I left out the castle doors, walking down the long driveway and starting to walk, letting my legs take me anywhere.
The evening air was cool and refreshing, a stark contrast to the tension that had filled the castle. As I walked, the gravel crunched under my feet, and the distant sounds of the night began to fill my ears. I let my thoughts wander, trying to make sense of everything that had happened with Omir.
The path led me to a small, secluded garden that I often visited as a child. The moonlight cast a gentle glow over the flowers, creating a serene and almost magical atmosphere. I sat on a stone bench, taking a deep breath and allowing myself a moment of peace.
As I sat there, I couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to change. The air felt charged with anticipation, and I wondered what the future held for me and my family.
I heard a noise, making me snap my head in that direction. Before I could react, I visibly relaxed upon seeing a guard rushing towards me with a worried expression on his face. I stood up, feeling myself tense up again, wondering what could be wrong.
"Your Highness," the guard said, slightly out of breath, "there's been an incident at the café you visited earlier today. We need you to come back to the castle immediately."
My heart raced as I stood up and followed the guard back into the castle. "What happened?" I asked urgently. "Is anyone hurt? Are the vampires attacking again?"
The guard nodded his head, leading me to the throne room. "Yes, one of the main guards spotted a body at the café. They went to check it out but didn't see anyone," he rushed out.
As we approached the throne room, my mind was spinning with worry and fear. The memory of the beauty Daomi working there late at night i slightly panic.
Entering the throne room, I saw my parents, the king and queen, standing with a group of high-ranking officials. The tension in the room was palpable.
My mother turned to me, her face etched with concern. "are u okay love? whats the matter why do u look so panic?!
"Someone I met that works there is in trouble! I have to go and save her!" I looked between my parents as I felt my wolf try to surface. I held it back as much as I could, but knowing that the girl I met today may be in danger didn't make it any better.
My father's eyes narrowed with concern. "You must be cautious. This could be a trap."
My mother placed a reassuring hand on my shoulder. "We understand your urgency, but you must not act recklessly. Let us devise a plan to ensure everyone's safety."
I nodded, trying to calm the storm within me. "I can't just stand by and do nothing. Please, let me go with the guards."
After a moment of deliberation, my father agreed. "Very well. You may go, but you must take a team of our best guards with you. We cannot afford to lose you."
With a determined heart, I prepared to set out, knowing that every second counted. The girl at the café needed me, and I would do everything in my power to save her.
I ran outside with many of my guards behind me, heading towards the forest. Feeling my body shift into my wolf, I felt my paws hit the ground as I started zipping past the trees, which seemed like blurry images. The wind brushed against my fur, and I dug my paws deeper into the moist dirt, determined to get to the café. The urgency to save the girl I met today drove me forward, each stride bringing me closer to the danger that awaited.
As I raced through the forest, my senses sharpened with each stride. Suddenly, I caught a familiar scent mixed with fear and desperation. It was the girl from the café, and she wasn't alone. There was another scent—one that sent a chill down my spine. A vampire.
I pushed myself harder, my determination fueling my speed. I signaled my guards to stay back as I followed the scent trail, which led me away from the forest and into a narrow alley. The sight before me made my heart race. The girl was cornered by a menacing vampire, his eyes glowing with hunger.
Without hesitation, I leaped into action. The vampire turned to face me, baring his fangs. The fight was intense, but my wolf's strength and agility gave me the upper hand. I managed to overpower the vampire. I glanced back at Damoi with intelligent eyes, urging her to go.
She got up and ran out of the alley while I put my focus back on the vampire. I bared my teeth before lunging at him, ripping his stomach out. He let out a pained scream before dropping dead. As his lifeless body hit the ground, I could hear the distant sound of footsteps approaching. I quickly shifted back to my human form, my heart pounding in my chest. The girl was safe, but something told me this wasn't over. The vampire's scream must have alerted others. I needed to get out of there fast, I scanned the alley for an escape route and spotted a fire escape ladder on the side of a nearby building. Without wasting a second, I sprinted towards it and leaped up, grabbing the bottom rung. I climbed swiftly, my muscles burning, until I reached the rooftop. From there, I could see the city sprawling out beneath me. I took a deep breath and started jumping from rooftop to rooftop, putting as much distance between myself and the alley as possible. The night was my ally, and I blended into the shadows, knowing that I had to stay one step ahead of whatever was coming next.
I made it back to the forest line where my guard stood and signaled them that we could leave. I shifted back into my wolf form and raced all the way back to the castle. The moonlight filtered through the trees, casting eerie shadows as we ran. My senses were on high alert, every rustle and snap of a twig making my ears twitch. As we approached the castle gates, I could see the worried expressions on the guards' faces. I shifted back to my human form and quickly made my way inside.
The atmosphere was thick with tension as I entered the grand hall. My parents, the king and queen, along with other officials, awaited my arrival. The guard who had accompanied me shared the disturbing details of the incident at the café. I recounted the events, and the room grew silent with concern. The king emphasized the urgency of the situation, signaling the beginning of a larger mystery that I was prepared to face.
