Chapter 2

Pipers POV

"Very funny Brett." I said and pushed his shoulder. He smiled at me and threw his arm around my shoulder.

"Hey Pip you still don't have a pack do you?" Brett asked me and I looked down with shame. No I didn't and to be completely honest I didn't think that I needed one, or if I could handle one. The idea of a pack made my stomach churn.

"No I don't." I whisper as flashes of my last pack flooded my vision. I don't know what had come over Aiden Ethan and I but we had killed out while pack. Well then again it was either that or Ducaleon was going to kill them and us.

Scott had asked Ethan and I both the join his pack after Aidens death but knew it was out of pity and regret. And I wasn't ready for a pack. Neither was Ethan. He needed to be alone.

"Well I took it upon myself to ask my alpha- Tony - if it would be alight if he added you to our pack." I was shocked by Brett's words. Brett had been part of Scott's pack briefly but not that long. He had been Liam's best friend. And according to Lydia Liam had been slipping on control without him.(A/N BRIAM)

"Brett that's sweet but I don't think I'm ready-"

"Piper it's been a year." Brett said and I sighed. I crossed my arms around myself and closed my wee briefly.

"I'll meet with him but I'm not promising anything Brett." I say pointing to him. He nods and throws his hands go in defense.

"Okay just meet me here after the lacrosse game." I nod and he runs off to the locker room. I see Liam, Scott, Stiles and Kira all standing outside the locker room. I look down and made my way to the bleachers.

I let a smile make its way onto my face as Liam saved another goal. Sometimes Coach would put him in goal if the other team was a good shot. They were really good.

Then Liam took the ball and glances up at the stands. He saw Brett from the side and I could hear his heart rate rise. Then Liam growled and took the ball down the field. I had never seen his so mad. I could see his claws coming out of the tips of his lacrosse gloves.

I looked at Brett who had taken off his helmet. He looked at me with wide eyes. Liam shot the ball and I heard a load whooshing noise. Then I saw Liam's breathing slow and everyone was cheering for him. He had made the wining goal.

And put a hole right through the other net.

"Brett you saw him." I say to him as we drive to his pack house. He sighs.

"I know. Usually Liam has great control. But something just snapped." Brett says and grips the steering wheel. He turns the car down a road into the middle of the woods. The last time that happened I ended up at the Hales.

"Okay, you ready?" he asks getting out of the car. I sigh and unbuckle.

"I better be." I say and climb out. I see about three people on the front porch. Two are boys and one is a girl. Brett walks in front of me or well between me and is pack members who seem to be holding back growls.

"Hello you must be Piper, Brett speaks very highly of you. I'm Tony." The male who is a bit over 6 foot says while holding his hand out. I shake it and smile. He's built and looks to be around 30-35.

"It's nice to meet you Tony. Brett speaks highly of you too." I say and he releases my hand. Tony crosses his arms.

"So Brett tells me you don't have a pack and your brother is not around anymore." My blood runs cold. He to Tony about Aiden? Or maybe he had to. Or maybe he had been speaking about Ethan.

"Yes that's correct." I say to him and fiddle with the bracelet that Aiden and Ethan bought me.

"So do you want to join our pack?" he asks and I open my mouth the answer him. But nothing comes out. I close my mouth and look down.

"I don't know if I'm ready for a pack. Not after the last two I was in." I say to him and Tony nods.

"Well I've also heard that you've been offered a place in another pack. Run by the true alpha. Scott McCall." My blood runs cold again. That was right Scott had offered- but I declined due to three reasons.

1- I knew the offer was out of pity

2- Liam

3- Malia

"Yes Scott has asked me, a few times, to join his pack. But I've refused for.... Several reasons." I say crossing my own arms now.

"Well I'd be happy to have you." He says and I almost see his wink at me. I almost gag and take a step back.

"You know I don't think I'm ready for a pack. But when I am. I'll let you know." I say and take a small step back. He nods and uncrosses his arms, he hugs me and I almost gasp.

"It would be an honor to have you." He whispers and I almost gag again. I go out to Brett's car with him claps behind and get in quick.

"So what did you think?" Brett asks as we sit in my drive way. I shake my head.

"I like you and all Brett and Im flattered with the offer and all but I- Im not ready." That and your alpha is a pedophile! He nods and grips his steering wheel.

"I get it. Hey I'll see you tomarrow yeah?"

"Yeah." I say and hug him. He waits for me to enter the house and then I see his car pull away.

I go up the stairs and go into my room. And I almost have a heart attack.

Because Scott McCall is sitting on my bed.
