Every night, H56 would meet with A49 in a secluded corner of the facility to share the information they had gathered and to momentarily forget the pain of the day. They talked about the various tests they had completed. H56 shared how he had been made to run through an obstacle course under live fire, testing his agility and reaction times. A49 recounted a grueling memory test where she had to memorize and recall an entire book's worth of information within minutes.

"At this rate, we will survive if we keep succeeding in each test!" H56 said, excitement apparent on his face.

"But doesn't that mean we will become killers?" A49 asked, her voice tinged with sadness.

"Don't worry, A49, we will figure out something when it comes to it," H56 reassured her.

"Listen, I don't like these names we were given. Let's find new names to call each other!" A49 suggested with a big smile.

"But how?" H56 asked.

"Hmm... Your name starts with H. How about Henry? It sounds nice!" she said with a cheerful voice.

"What about you?" he asked.

"Well, I was thinking of..." Her words were cut off when they heard someone approaching.

"I have been searching for you everywhere," a female scientist said.

"Didn't we finish all our tests today?" A49 asked.

"Today you have a special test, and it's the last test," she said. Both children felt very happy but tried to hide it.

"H56, go to room 351. A49, go to room 260," the scientist said before leaving.

"Did you hear that? This is the last test!" Henry said, unable to contain his happiness.

"Yeah, I know... Oh, and about my name..." A49 said, only to be cut off by Henry.

"Let's go and end this nightmare!" Henry said, running through the hallways to room 351. A49 felt annoyed because he ignored her but decided to go to room 260.

The test began. There was a rabbit on a table, and beside it was a knife.

"Kill that rabbit," a scientist instructed from behind a glass.

Henry didn't want to kill the rabbit, but he also knew the consequences if he didn't. He grabbed the knife and was slowly impaling the rabbit. A strange feeling surged through him. His vision turned red, and he found amusement in the rabbit's suffering. He stabbed it again, deeper this time, and again and again. Blood splattered everywhere, covering his face. He used his hands to extract the rabbit's guts and threw them around. The smell of blood was like a perfume, so he decided to cover himself in it more.

The scientist watched in terror; she had never seen any subject act this aggressively before.

"H56, that's enough!" she said, snapping Henry out of his madness.

Henry felt an extremely sharp pain in his hands. He looked down and found that he had cut his hand with the knife while blinded by his bloodlust. Henry stood there, bewildered. Despite his history of intensified pain, this injury brought no agony. It was as if the rabbit shared the burden, lightening the load. A darker aspect of Henry emerged, one that should have remained hidden. He stepped out of the room covered in gore, the intense pleasure he felt masking his pain.

"Did I pass?" Henry asked.

"Yes, with flying colors!" she answered.

"What about A49? Did she finish the test? Can I meet her?" Henry asked, concerned about her.

"Yes, she passed but will be transferred soon, so sadly you won't be able to meet her again," the scientist said after a pause.

The words struck Henry like lightning. He knew the scientist was lying. A49 was going to be executed unless he acted swiftly.
