As Henry's and Amanda's lips were about to meet, a noise interrupted the intimate moment. They heard someone crawling, disrupting the wholesome scene. Both drew their swords and pointed them toward the sound simultaneously. A man lying on the bloodied ground shrieked in fear, covering his face. It appeared he had been pretending to be dead to avoid getting killed.

"Wait, isn't that..." Amanda began, recognizing the man's face.

"L13, I thought I told you the next time we meet, I will kill you," Henry said, his voice dripping with murderous intent.

"Wait! Wait! I'm not here to fight. I... I just want to leave, okay? Please pretend you didn't see me," L13 stammered while pleading for his life, his voice shaking with fear.

Henry stood up, preparing his sword. Amanda grabbed his sleeve. Henry glanced back at Amanda, who shook her head slowly.

"No one has ever crossed my path twice and lived. Consider yourself lucky!" Henry said aggressively. L13 wasted no time and started running away.

"I don't understand how a cowardly wimp like him passed the tests and became an assassin," Henry said with a sigh. The duo looked around, remembering the bloodbath they were in.

"Let's get moving," Henry said, heading deeper into the facility.

"Shouldn't we leave?" Amanda suggested.

"There is a place I want to check," Henry replied. The facility was eerily silent, any small sound echoing throughout the halls.

"Where is everyone?" Amanda asked.

"Probably escaped or hid themselves," Henry said, approaching a door.

"What's behind this door?" Amanda asked. Instead of answering, Henry opened the door to reveal a group of ten children. Henry put his hand on the grip of his sword.

"What are you doing?" Amanda said in a low yet sharp voice, pushing his sword back into its sheath.

"They are dangerous, so I will end their suffering," Henry said, looking back at Amanda. The kids moved backward, their keen hearing catching the whispered words.

"Just leave it to me," Amanda said, turning to the children. "Hey there, little cupcakes! Don't worry, we won't hurt you," Amanda said gently, her eyes half-closed and her smile sweet.

"What about the blood on your faces and clothes?" a little girl asked.

"Oh, this is... uh, fake blood. Yeah, this is a test for you, but it will be very easy," Amanda bluffed, trying to calm them down. The children felt a sign of relief and started approaching Amanda.

"What kind of test is this? Is it easier than doing 30 pushups in 10 seconds to test stamina?" one child began.

"Or than walking on a spiky rope blindfolded to test our balance?" suggested another.

Amanda's heart sank at the cruelty they faced. "This time, this test will be about doing something you like!" Amanda said, hiding her pain with a smile. "Do you have something in mind? Something you like doing?" she continued.

The children paused at the strange question. "I like singing!" a little girl broke the silence, her wavy hair was gifted with a natural red color, her eyes were green copying Amanda's eyes, her voice gentle and playful.

"Oh, I'm sure your singing will be wonderful with your amazing voice," Amanda replied, happy for the change of subject.

"And I like playing chess," said a little boy with blond long fringes covering his brown eyes, encouraged by Amanda's softness.
