3rd person's POV:

Lucy woke up to the soft light filtering through the curtains, feeling a momentary sense of disorientation before the events of the previous night came rushing back. She glanced around Tim's bedroom, her heart heavy with the memory of Caleb's violence and the unexpected tenderness she had found in Tim's arms.

She got up and quietly made her way to the living room, where Tim was already awake, sitting on the couch with a cup of coffee in hand. He looked up as she entered, a small smile tugging at his lips.

"Good morning." He said softly.

"Morning." She replied, her voice still raspy from sleep. She sat down next to him, and he handed her a mug of coffee.

They sipped in silence for a few moments before Tim spoke. "We need to talk about last night."

Lucy nodded, taking a deep breath. "Yeah, we do. I'm sorry if I made things awkward."

"Don't be," Tim said firmly. "I'm glad you came to me. You don't have to go through this alone."

Lucy looked at him, gratitude shining in her eyes. "Thank you, Tim. I don't know what I would have done without you."

Tim reached out, gently squeezing her hand. "You don't have to thank me, Lucy. I care about you, and I want to help. But we also need to figure out what to do about Caleb."

Lucy sighed, her shoulders slumping. "I know. But right now, we have to get to work."

Tim nodded, understanding the urgency. "Right. We can talk more later. Let's get ready."

They quickly got dressed and headed to the station. As they arrived, Sergeant Grey briefed them on their assignment for the day. Lucy was going undercover in a girl gang where one of the members, known as Raven, was a suspect in a recent murder case. Her task was to get evidence for the case.

"Lucy, we need you to infiltrate the gang and gather any information you can on Raven." Sergeant Grey instructed. "Be careful. These girls are dangerous."

Lucy nodded, her mind shifting to focus on the task at hand. "Well so am I."

Tim gave her a reassuring look before they parted ways. "Stay safe out there."

"You too." She replied, feeling a surge of determination.

Lucy spent the day immersing herself in the gang's activities, carefully gaining their trust. She observed Raven closely, trying to piece together any clues that might link her to the murder. The tension was palpable, but Lucy' training and instincts kept her sharp.

The gang operated out of an old warehouse on the outskirts of town, a place filled with shadows and whispers of unlawful activities. Lucy's cover was that of a small-time thief looking to move up in the world. She played her part well, blending in with the group and slowly working her way into their confidence.

As the hours passed, she managed to strike up a conversation with Raven. The girl was tough and guarded, her eyes constantly scanning the room for threats. Lucy knew it would take time to get anything useful from her, but she remained patient and observant.

During a break, Lucy found herself alone with Raven in a corner of the warehouse. She decided to test the waters, casually mentioning the recent murder that had the gang on edge.

"Heard about that guy who got killed last week." Lucy said, keeping her tone light. "Word is, it was someone from around here."

Raven's nodded, sensing the warning in her words. "Just curious, that's all. Figured it might be good to know who to avoid."

Raven stared at her for a long moment before finally nodding. "Smart. Keep your head down and your mouth shut, and you'll do fine."
