"Calais!" Meredith shouted up the stairs, trying to wake up the twenty two year old.
Calais groaned and buried her face in her pillow. She didn't want to wake up, there was no reason why, she just felt like sleeping all day.
"You're gonna be late." Meredith said, making her way up the stairs with Zola on her hip whilst she is on the phone to Cristina.
"Calais!" She swung Calais' door open to see her sprawled out on her front still fast asleep.
Meredith placed Zola on her bed. "Wake her up, Zo."
Zola jumped on Calais' back and began tapping the top of her head causing Calais to let out a groan.
She rolled over onto her back and Zola laid her head on her chest.
"Ok, no. I didn't ask you to wake her up for you to go back to sleep." Meredith sighed. "Come on, you're not a kid, Cal, wake up."
"I'm up." Calais whispered, carefully sitting up with Zola still in her arms.
"We're both late, come on." Meredith said, picking Zola up and pulling Calais up.
"What's that smell?" Calais asked, scrunching her nose up in disgust.
"I have pee on my shoes." Meredith said.
"Right." Calais said slowly.
"Come on, we're late." Meredith said, taking hold of Calais' hand and pulling her down the stairs and into the kitchen.
"Ok, i'm almost ready." Derek said, walking in the kitchen.
"Hi." Meredith smiled.
"Hey. Hi." Derek said, taking Zola out of Meredith's arms.
"So she needs a change and we are late." Meredith said.
"Ok. Daddy's gonna take a train today to give a boring paper to a bunch of boring people." Derek said.
"Zola, your daddy's my hero." Meredith kissed Dereks cheek as Calais leaned against the door still half asleep.
"I love you. I'll see you in a couple days."Derek said.
"Oop. I forgot the fish sticks." Meredith said, pulling them out the fridge.
"What for?" Derek asked.
"Oh, it's, uh, Multicultural Day at preschool. We're Brazil. I burned the first batch." Meredith said, picking up a glass dish.
"All right. I'll see you later." Derek said, giving Meredith a peck on the lips.
"Ok, bye." Meredith said, walking over to Calais.
"Stay out of trouble you." Derek pointed to Calais as Meredith tapped her shoulder.
"Ok, dad." Calais rolled her eyes.
