After returning from their rejuvenating trip to Jeju Island, life settled back into its familiar rhythm for Vivi and her friends. The memories of the sun-drenched beaches and tranquil moments in Hallasan National Park lingered, providing a sense of warmth amidst the daily grind of university classes and social activities.

The day started like any other, with Vivi catching up on lectures and assignments, her mind occasionally wandering back to the unforgettable moments she had shared with Sunoo and her friends on Jeju Island. Lucas, too, seemed to have integrated smoothly into their group, joining them for lunch and study sessions with an easy camaraderie that belied the lingering tension Vivi felt.

As the afternoon sun dipped lower in the sky, Vivi found herself at a bustling café near campus, sipping on a latte as she reviewed her notes for an upcoming exam. Lucas sat across from her, his easy smile and animated conversation drawing the attention of nearby students.

"You know," Lucas said, his gaze lingering on Vivi with a hint of warmth, "I've been wanting to talk to you about something."

Vivi looked up from her notes, surprised by the seriousness in Lucas's tone. "Oh? What is it?"

Lucas leaned forward slightly, his expression earnest. "I... I really enjoy spending time with you, Vivi. Ever since I met you, I've felt this connection, and... I think I'm falling for you."

Vivi's heart skipped a beat at Lucas's confession, her thoughts swirling with confusion and apprehension. She had sensed Lucas's growing fondness for her during their time together, but hearing it spoken aloud brought a sudden clarity to the situation.

"Lucas," Vivi began, her voice soft but uncertain, "I... I appreciate your honesty, but..."

Lucas reached across the table, gently squeezing Vivi's hand. "I know things are complicated, especially with Sunoo and everything. But I had to tell you how I feel."

Vivi nodded slowly, her mind racing with conflicting emotions. She valued Lucas's friendship and admired his kindness, but her heart belonged to someone else—someone she hadn't fully come to terms with yet.

"I need some time to think," Vivi finally managed to say, her voice tinged with regret. "I hope you understand."

Lucas nodded understandingly, his gaze unwavering. "Of course, Vivi. Take all the time you need. Just know that whatever you decide, I'll always be here for you."

That evening, Vivi found herself walking through the campus grounds, the cool night air soothing her restless thoughts. Lucas's confession weighed heavily on her mind, stirring a storm of emotions that she struggled to navigate.

As she approached the university library, Vivi spotted Sunoo sitting on the steps, his gaze fixed on the starlit sky above. She hesitated for a moment before joining him, the familiar comfort of his presence easing the turmoil within her.

"Hey, Sunoo," Vivi said softly, taking a seat beside him.

Sunoo turned to her, a warm smile lighting up his face. "Hey, Vivi. How was your day?"

Vivi sighed, her fingers twisting nervously in her lap. "It was... eventful."

Sunoo raised an eyebrow, his expression filled with concern. "Everything okay?"

Vivi nodded slowly, her gaze drifting out across the campus grounds. "Lucas... he confessed his feelings to me today."

Sunoo's smile faltered slightly, his eyes searching Vivi's face. "Oh."

Vivi glanced at Sunoo, her heart heavy with the weight of unspoken truths. "I didn't know what to say. I... I need time to figure things out."

Sunoo reached out, gently placing a hand on Vivi's shoulder. "It's okay, Vivi. Take all the time you need."

Vivi nodded gratefully, comforted by Sunoo's unwavering support. "Thank you, Sunoo. You always know what to say."

Sunoo chuckled softly, his thumb brushing against Vivi's shoulder. "I try."

In the days that followed, Vivi found herself caught between two worlds—the warmth and familiarity of her friendship with Sunoo, and the uncertainty of her feelings towards Lucas. She cherished the moments spent with Sunoo, their easy laughter and shared understanding grounding her amidst the swirling chaos of emotions.

One evening, Vivi and Sunoo sat on a bench overlooking the city skyline, the soft glow of streetlights casting a tranquil aura around them.

"I'm sorry if Lucas's confession made things awkward," Sunoo said softly, breaking the comfortable silence between them.

Vivi shook her head quickly, her heart aching at the thought of causing Sunoo any discomfort. "No, Sunoo. It's not your fault. I just... I need to sort things out."

Sunoo nodded understandingly, his gaze fixed on the twinkling lights below. "I get it, Vivi. Just know that I'm here for you, no matter what."
