Mitsugi Arkinosh Sungbin's days became a blur of academic commitments, athletic training, and chess strategies, but through it all, his thoughts frequently drifted to Professor Isekai Nischovich Suguri. Their growing bond was a source of joy and comfort, an anchor amidst the storm of responsibilities that came with being the School Council President and a top student.

One afternoon, as Mitsugi was finishing his chess practice, he received a message from Suguri. The professor had invited him to join a small study group for an impromptu discussion on engineering advancements. Mitsugi eagerly accepted, knowing it was another opportunity to spend time with Suguri.

The study group convened in Suguri's office, a space filled with books, diagrams, and a few trophies hinting at his illustrious past. Mitsugi took a seat near Suguri, feeling a mix of anticipation and excitement.

As the session progressed, Mitsugi couldn't help but admire Suguri's effortless command of the subject matter. The professor's enthusiasm was infectious, and Mitsugi found himself deeply engrossed in the discussion. He occasionally caught Suguri's eye, and each time, he felt a warm flutter in his chest.

After the study group disbanded, Suguri asked Mitsugi to stay behind. "I wanted to discuss something with you, Mitsugi. Are you free for a bit longer?"

"Of course, Professor," Mitsugi replied, his curiosity piqued.

Suguri closed the door and sat down across from Mitsugi. "I have an opportunity that I think you might be interested in. There's an engineering competition coming up, and I believe you have the skills and potential to excel in it. Would you like to participate?"

Mitsugi's eyes widened in surprise and excitement. "I'd love to, Professor. Thank you for thinking of me."

"I have no doubt you'll do well," Suguri said with a smile. "We can start preparing next week. It's a challenging competition, but I know you're up for it."

Mitsugi nodded, his mind already buzzing with ideas. "I'll give it my best, Professor."

As he left Suguri's office, Mitsugi couldn't help but feel a surge of happiness. The opportunity to work even more closely with Suguri was thrilling, and he looked forward to the new challenge.

Over the next few weeks, their preparation sessions became a routine. They spent long hours in the lab, their focus alternating between intense concentration and moments of shared laughter. Suguri's encouragement and support meant the world to Mitsugi, and he found himself looking forward to their time together more than ever.

One evening, after a particularly productive session, Suguri suggested they take a break and get some fresh air. They walked to a nearby park, the night sky dotted with stars. The air was cool and crisp, and Mitsugi felt a sense of peace wash over him.

"You're doing exceptionally well, Mitsugi," Suguri said as they sat on a bench. "I'm impressed by your dedication and progress."

"Thank you, Professor," Mitsugi replied, his cheeks warming. "I couldn't have done it without your guidance."

Suguri turned to look at him, his eyes reflecting a softness Mitsugi hadn't seen before. "It's not just about my guidance, Mitsugi. You have a natural talent and drive. I'm simply helping you unlock your potential."

Their gazes met, and for a moment, time seemed to stand still. Mitsugi's heart raced as he realized just how much Suguri's presence meant to him. The professor was more than a mentor; he was someone Mitsugi deeply cared for, someone who made him feel seen and valued.

As the days turned into weeks, their connection grew stronger. They began to share more personal stories, revealing bits of their pasts and dreams for the future. Mitsugi learned about Suguri's journey, the challenges he faced, and the sacrifices he made to achieve his goals. In turn, Suguri listened to Mitsugi's aspirations, offering wisdom and encouragement.

One evening, after a particularly grueling study session, Suguri invited Mitsugi to his apartment for dinner. Mitsugi accepted, eager to spend more time with the professor outside the academic setting.

Suguri's apartment was cozy and welcoming, filled with personal touches that gave Mitsugi a glimpse into his life outside the university. As they sat down to eat, the atmosphere was relaxed and intimate.

"Mitsugi, I want to thank you for all your hard work," Suguri said, raising his glass. "You've been an incredible partner in this project, and I'm proud of what we've accomplished together."

Mitsugi raised his glass, feeling a swell of gratitude and affection. "Thank you, Professor. You've been an amazing mentor and friend. I couldn't have done it without you."

As they clinked glasses, their eyes met, and Mitsugi felt a surge of emotions he could no longer ignore. The warmth and admiration he felt for Suguri had grown into something deeper, something more profound.

After dinner, they moved to the living room, the conversation flowing effortlessly. Mitsugi found himself laughing and sharing stories he hadn't told anyone before, feeling a sense of ease and connection he rarely experienced.

As the evening drew to a close, Suguri walked Mitsugi to the door. "Thank you for tonight, Mitsugi. I really enjoyed our time together."

"Me too, Professor," Mitsugi replied, his heart full of unspoken emotions. "Goodnight."

"Goodnight, Mitsugi," Suguri said, his eyes lingering on Mitsugi's for a moment longer.

As Mitsugi walked back to his dorm, he felt a profound sense of contentment. He knew that his feelings for Suguri had deepened into something more than admiration. He was falling in love, and he hoped that, in time, Suguri might feel the same way
