The eerie silence of this part of the forest was completely different from the chattering noise of the previous section.
After a while, someone nervously asked, "Isn't it too quiet?"
The silence was so profound that only the rustling of leaves could be heard.
Those who hadn't noticed before now understood, and their faces changed color.
Ye Ye frowned and said, "Let's go."
Mr. Fang was the first to stand up, whispering to everyone, "Let's keep moving. We're almost out of here, just hang in there a bit longer."
Before long, a clear blue lake appeared ahead, its surface as smooth as a mirror.
Wen Qing looked at the lake and remembered that once they passed it, there was only a short distance left on the Primate Pavilion map.
Mr. Fang strode towards the lake, joyfully exclaiming, "We're almost at the exit."
"At our current pace, we should be out of here in about half an hour."
Wen Qing nodded in agreement.
Suddenly, a short, sharp scream came from behind: "Ah!"
Wen Qing turned around and saw a short-haired girl with a pale face stammering, "I-I think I saw something just now. It flashed by very quickly."
Mr. Fang, standing in front, turned pale and hurried back to the players: "Where?"
The short-haired girl whispered, "B-Behind us, but now it's gone."
"Maybe you were mistaken?" Mr. Fang paused, then said to the girl, "It could have just been a monkey."
"Let's keep moving."
Everyone quickened their pace.
Wen Qing and Zhou Ran were at the back. Zhou Ran, panting and with a pale face, seemed like she wanted to say something but was too tired and could only wave her hand weakly.
Wen Qing kept looking back but saw nothing besides trees.
The strange silence continued to feel unsettling.
When he turned his head, he bumped into a hard chest.
Wen Qing collided solidly, his nose stung, and his eyes instantly turned red.
Through teary eyes, he looked up and saw Ye Ye's blurry face.
"What is it?" Wen Qing asked irritably, rubbing his eyes.
He thought this guy must be up to no good and was probably going to spout more nonsense.
But to Ye Ye, Wen Qing's eyes were watery, and his voice carried a hint of a sob.
Ye Ye paused, the scolding at the tip of his tongue disappearing.
Turning his face away, Ye Ye muttered, "What's there to cry about?"
He didn't even scold him.
Wen Qing pursed his lips, "I'm not crying."
It's your fault for bumping into me!
Ye Ye looked at his reddened eyes, "Stubborn."
Wen Qing: "..."
Not wanting to explain further, Wen Qing asked, "What do you want?"
Ye Ye responded with an "Oh," and said, "Just wanted to make sure you keep up and don't fall behind."
Wen Qing: "I wasn't falling behind."

Ye Ye glanced at Wen Qing, then looked away and didn't say anything more.
The group continued walking quickly, trying to shake off the unsettling feeling from the strange silence.
They reached the edge of the forest and saw the end of the Primate Pavilion.
Mr. Fang pointed ahead, "There! That's the exit."
Everyone sighed in relief and quickened their pace.
As they approached the exit, the monkeys and apes continued to watch them, but none made any aggressive moves.
Finally, they reached the end of the pavilion, where a large sign indicated the exit.
Wen Qing looked at his identity card and saw that it had been stamped, marking the completion of this part of the task.
"Let's move on to the next area," Mr. Fang suggested.
Everyone agreed, eager to leave the eerie Primate Pavilion behind.
They followed the path leading to the next section, hoping the next part of the zoo would be less disturbing.

This dead silent forest was starkly different from the chattering, headache-inducing one they had been in earlier.
After a while, someone nervously asked, "Isn't it too quiet?"
