Wen Qing was stunned for a moment, looking down at Xiao Ji Yu by his leg.

Xiao Ji Yu clutched his pants, looked up at him, smiled, and called out again, "Mother."

Wen Qing lifted his eyes to look at Si Kong and Yu Xing.

Yu Xing's expression was dark, staring intently at Xiao Ji Yu.

Si Kong's smile grew even wider, becoming somewhat eerie.

Clearly, Xiao Ji Yu's appearance had caught them off guard.

Si Kong spoke lightly, "Ji Yu, you're here."

Yu Xing, unable to hide his emotions as well as Si Kong, turned to the side and said coldly, "Why did you come down?"

Xiao Ji Yu blinked and, still hugging Wen Qing's leg, said, "To eat."

"I, I'm hungry..."

As he spoke, his stomach grumbled right on cue.

Xiao Ji Yu asked them in a small voice, "Aren't you here to eat too?"

Yu Xing remained silent, his face stern.

Si Kong chuckled lightly, looking at Wen Qing, "Since Ji Yu is here, can you eat with peace of mind now?"

Wen Qing murmured a response.

He glanced at Xiao Ji Yu, then at the butler beside him, feeling much more at ease.

Xiao Ji Yu pulled him towards the dining table, "Mother, let's eat."

"I want to eat buns."

Wen Qing didn't sit beside Si Kong and Yu Xing but instead sat with Xiao Ji Yu, separated from them by half the table.

Perhaps because Xiao Ji Yu was there, Si Kong and Yu Xing didn't say much or do anything, merely instructing the maids to serve the food.

Wen Qing let out a sigh of relief and took a sip of soy milk.

Suddenly, he felt Si Kong's gaze on him.

Wen Qing's fingers paused as he felt the gaze linger on him before slowly moving away.

It seemed to be directed at Xiao Ji Yu.

Wen Qing put down his cup, noticing Yu Xing's occasional glances at Xiao Ji Yu.

They were more focused on Xiao Ji Yu...

Wen Qing discreetly looked at Xiao Ji Yu, who was holding a cup and drinking soy milk in small sips.

Xiao Ji Yu seemed thirsty, quickly finishing a cup of soy milk.

He smacked his lips and looked at the soy milk pot on the table.

The pot was larger than Xiao Ji Yu's face, and Wen Qing instinctively reached out to help him pour.

Before his hand could fully extend, Si Kong suddenly called out, "Mother."

Wen Qing froze at his call.

Si Kong calmly asked, "You haven't eaten much, is your appetite poor?"

"No," Wen Qing replied, glancing at Xiao Ji Yu, who was carefully pouring himself another cup of soy milk with the large pot.

Si Kong continued, "Is it because you're taking care of Ji Yu that you can't eat properly?"

Wen Qing pressed his lips together, about to speak when Xiao Ji Yu interjected, "I'm a grown-up now; I don't need Mother to take care of me."

Saying this, Xiao Ji Yu held up the soy milk pot and earnestly asked Wen Qing, "Mother, do you want to drink some too?"

Wen Qing quickly shook his head, "No, you put it down."
