Chapter 17

Zero didn't actually go with the riders, only halfway when he realized he didn't really want to be seen too much by the hunters, or they might be after him till race to edge was over. The hunters that tried to capture Zero and Garff, and succeeded with Sephra.


About an hour after flying, he saw a island that seem to be full of dragons. He could stop to rest as his wing were still tired from the flight over.
The dragons could either not be bothered to meet him, be friendly and help him, which he doubts, or attack him. If they do attack him he could easily blast them, maybe drop in some amber spiders.
And another things is, somehow, probably magic, the amber has, like a mind. It would be like how changelings from MLP connect to each other. It was like a hivemind with him in the center. If he focused hard enough, which would take a lot of energy, he could make a sentient, or with a lot of energy that could knock him out, he could make a glob of a SAPIENT being. It would probably take a while to do it.
How did I know without finding out? One day I didn't know and the next, I did, to put it simply.

Zero landed down at the place that seems to have no dragons at it and was relatively covered. Something felt off...But he paid no mind to it. In-between some bushes and the shade of tree, he laid down. He could definitely not afford to fall asleep in a place full of dragons. Maybe it's a situation like to Red Death? But this place doesn't have a big enough mountain to hide a Red Death...
Sometime later as Zero was about to leave he heard a slight growling, hissing. he was going to look around him, but he felt something hard hit on the head. The world faded to black

Zero woke up with a sharp pain on his, head. Before he'd open his eyes, he heard a voice so he stopped himself from opening them to listen in.
'Ugh, when is he going to wake up...?! Why did you knock him out anyways!' Hissed a voice, it sounded female.

' Well...Your highness, we found this Deathsong here at the zone where the dragons escape a lot, and we were guarding it like you told us too. He was resting when we arrived there. The newbie didn't know it was a AmberMelody situation, or any situation in that matter, it didn't even look like a Deathsong!' A Gruff voice spoke out 'So instead of asking us what to do, it went ahead and prepared venom to be spat at. Luckily, Sergeant knocked him out of the way before the newbie hurt the deathsong. When I asked him why, he said it was a Deathsong so I quickly knocked it out before it could realize we were there...'
'I guess that is good enough reason...' the same female voice sighed.
After awhile of silence, he decided to 'wake up' , seeing his not going to get anymore answers.
'Oh! Hooray! He woke up!' The female rang out being the first to notice. It was a female Deathsong, she was mainly Red with some dark red and pink patterns. She was sitting in s nest made out of amber and nest materials, like twigs, leaves, and grass. It also had a amber back that made it resemble a throne. I thought dragons here were not that advanced as the WoF dragons....? The dragon also looked almost like Queen Scarlet. Scarlet reincarnated? That would explain the throne, the position she's sitting in. And the fact everything about the island was advanced, there was basically a castle carved into the mountain he saw while observing the island. The Deathsong also had other deathsong, varying in how dark and light their scales were. Two were beside the Queen, we'll call her, plus a hatchling with its own mini nest-throne. The hatchling was right beside the Queen. Three on each side of the wall, all except the hatchling sitting in the same pose barely moving, their head were slightly tilted up.
'Who are you and-' the Gruff voice growled before stopping abruptly. The voice came from a Navy blue Changewing with a pale blue belly.
'What have I said about speak to someone before I do? Anyways, we would want to make our guest uncomfortable....' The Scarlet colored Deathsong looked at him while Zero got up onto a stand. 'I'll introduce myself, I am Ruby. But I prefer to he called Queen Scarlet...And you?' The dragon flicked her tail. So it is Scarlet..
He must have stayed quiet for to long because a guard whispered to him.
'Hey! You should really answer because the Queen gets impatient...' It was a dark green Changewing with light green whips
(I don't know what to call those little long whip things :( .)
And underbelly.
'Uh...Z-Zero...'
'Zero? Fitting name, I guess...Well Zero, Do you know why you're here...?'
'N-no...' He faked being nervous to try to discourage Scarlet from putting him in an arena, as, she probably already has one.
'You're here because Deathsongs brought here are brought to become guards!' She suddenly leapt from her throne and glided towards him, considering the room was long and she was atheist 12 feet away from him. She whistled a little tools that was far from the Tune used by Deathsong to lure in prey. In fact, every dragon had a distant look in their eyes when she whistled it. 'Even he felt a little distant before shaking his head once Scarlet was done.

' Now, will you a be part of the guard?' she asked, taking some steps back.

Do it.

What?

I said do it, accept the offer.

Why, should I, who even are you?

You don't need to know, just say yes. I'm trying to save you!

My answer is no!

Fine, Die...

(Zero then fell over and died- IM KIDDING!)

Fine, Die then, it will be your fault...

'So...? What's your answer...?' Scarlet growled this time, impatient.

'No.' he answered. Everyone stared at him, in shock.

'C-come again?'

'I said no.'

'What, how-? I'm giving you free power over others!'

'I want to be free, not be trapped and have control other others. In fact I don't even wanna control other dragon!'

'...'

'What?'

'No Deathsong has ever declined my offer...' Scarlet was growling. 'Take him to the dungeon...'

Just like before, a sharp pain hit him in the head and he blacked out.

Okay, so this was supposed to be a rlly long chapters, but im lazy and feel bad about ya'lll waiting so i just decided to split this up too two or three parts, maybe even four. But anyways, decided I'd but some fun fact in here just because. Also, WOF AND HTTYD FANS BAND TOGETHER!!

Scarlet was really disappointed when Zero declined her offer because he looked nervous and probably easy to manipulate, plus thought it would be help to her when she felt that he was strong.
