Chapter 1. Back Home

Korrey POV.....

9:30 pm

"Please just get here I can't take this by myself" I said sobbing into the phone.

"I'm coming Korrey just calm down" Kamaria said nervously and I was pacing back and forth.

I went to the corner of the room and sat down crying on the phone. I tried explaining to her what happened to our mother. It's like she just passed out. I just turned 18 a few days ago and all of a sudden she falls ill.

I was the only child left here at the family home and I don't know what to do besides call 911. I felt so helpless they took her and I said I'd be there as soon as I could. I called all my siblings and Kamaria was the only one to actually answer.

They've all ran off and left the nest and I'm not mad at them but I wish they still came around. I went and sat on the couch fiddling with the phone and I heard the door open.

"Korrey oh my god what happened?" Kamaria said hugging me. She was soaking wet cause of the storm going on outside.

"I don't know we were downstairs playing cards and talking then all of a sudden she passed out" I said getting sad again.

She hugged me and calmed me down.

"It's okay I knew I should've came back home when she got sick before" she said breaking the hug.

"Yeah somebody should've" I mumbled.

"Don't start we all went and had a life outside of this house" she said with an attitude.

"But that's no excuse she's your mother and what about your baby brother" I started to say angrily but the she hugged me.

"I'm sorry we were sorta selfish but hopefully this will bring us back" she said and I heard a ding.

"Oh shit you hear that?" I said looking around.

"Yeah was that something in the kitchen?" she said and I replied no.

We chalked it up to it coming from outside. We decided to leave and go to the hospital and be with our mom.

We arrived to the hospital and my brothers Kieran and Keegan were already there. We embraced each other and I was excited to see them. I missed Kieran the most since we were the closest in ages. He's only 2 years older than me.

"It's so good to see you sorry we couldn't come for your birthday" Keegan said.

"It's no problem at least you guys are here now" I said walking away from them.

I went and asked the receptionist was it possible to see my mom and she said not yet as they were still running tests.

11:30 pm

We got back to the house after making sure my mom was okay. They wanted to keep her at the hospital for observations and more tests tomorrow. They all decided to stay the night here and go see mom again tomorrow. We were sitting around the living room and then we heard 4 dings.

"Okay what the hell is that?" Kieran said standing up.

"I have no clue but it's pissing me off that the second time I heard it" I said going to the kitchen.

I looked around the kitchen and nothing was on in here to make that noise. I walked back out and they were looking around. The dinging started back up and we heard a knock on the door.
