Broken Hearts

 **Later**:

 Back at the hotel both Roman and Seth changed out of their costumes, they sat together on Roman's bed. Seth watched as Roman sat quietly starring at the mask he held, he put a hand on Roman's arm as he spoke.

 "Ro, what happened?" Seth asked gently.

 "I...um, I was having a drink at the buffet table. I turned to go find you when I...I bumped into Dean." Roman said quietly, he decided not to tell Seth about knowing Paige yet.

 "You're sure it was him?" Seth asked gently.

 "Yeah, we just stood there starring at each other, not saying anything. He went to speak, but before he could Bo found us. He...he put his arm around me and kissed my cheek." Roman said sadly.

 "Shit." Seth replied gently, as he squeezed Roman's arm, he wanted to kill Bo!

 "Seth, the look on Dean's face ripped my heart out! He took off before I could explain, so I followed him...but I lost him in the crowd. Knowing he'd be leaving I raced outside, but I was too late! I saw his car leave, and I knew that was it...Dean was really gone!"

 "That mask is his isn't it?" Seth asked gently, Roman nodded starring at it. "Ro, I'm so sorry."

 "I...I never got the chance to tell him I still loved him." Roman said, as he started to cry.

 Seth didn't know what to say or do, his own heart breaking for Roman. He took Roman in his arms holding him close and let him cry. Holding Roman, Seth knew two things, the first; he was going to get Dean and Roman back together, they belonged together! The second; he would do whatever it took to make sure Bo stayed away from Roman for good!

**With Dean**:

 When Dean and Paige arrived back at the warehouse, they headed for Dean's room. Of course Dean had to keep his tears and broken heart hidden until they were behind closed doors. Once they were finally alone in his room, Dean began to take off his costume, Paige sat on his bed silently watching him. She knew Dean didn't like talking about his feelings, so she'd wait for him to come to her about it. Dean changed quickly, before he sat beside her, neither spoke at first, until Dean finally did.

 "Paige?"

 "Yeah Dean?"

 "I...I screwed up, didn't I?" Dean asked quietly, his voice cracking.

 "Dean, I have no idea who that bastard was with Roman, but I do know he still loves you!"

 "He might still love me Paige, but tonight proved that I lost him!" Dean said, as he began to cry.

 Paige took Dean in her arms, her heart breaking too, as her tears fell silently. She knew Roman still loved Dean, she saw it in his eyes and she vowed she'd get them back together...she just didn't know how! 

**Two Weeks Later**:

 Days after their run-in at the ball Dean remained the same, he still threw himself into Authority work, he still drank heavily, and he still refused to talk about Roman! He made it clear to Paige that it was over between him and Roman, what they had was gone, Roman had moved on and he needed to as well.

 Paige let it go, not wanting to lose Dean, but she knew he still loved Roman; he still wore his ring and she knew when he had been crying. She wanted so badly to make Dean realize that giving up and not fighting for love was the stupidest thing he's ever done! The old Dean would never give up and walk away, he wouldn't stop fighting until he had Roman back! She had to find a way to get them back together, before Dean did something stupid, only Roman could save Dean now!

 Dean had become someone even he didn't recognize anymore, before he saw Roman again, he had always believed that once The Authority was taken down he and Roman would be together again. Now...he knew the truth, he knew now that Roman was no longer his and he loved Roman enough to let him go and be with whoever made him happy. At night when he was alone with his thoughts and he didn't have to pretend he was okay, he'd cry. He'd cry until his eyes burned, his chest ached and there were no more tears left to cry.

**With Roman**:

 As the days passed, Roman became a zombie; going through the motions of life, but not really living. He never left the hotel, and if he had to it was only to the station to talk to Ford about his investigation.

 Seth was worried about him, he knew how much Roman loved Dean, but seeing Roman so lost, so broken, scared Seth! He had tried to be there for Roman, talking with him, letting him cry, but Seth still felt helpless to stop his brothers heart from breaking! Watching Roman's already broken heart break more killed Seth. Remembering what Roman had told him about Dean's reaction at the ball proved he still loved Roman, and knowing Roman still loved Dean gave Seth more incentive to get them back together!

 Roman felt so lost without Dean, it was like a part of him was missing. The worst part was that Roman had hurt Dean, he watched as Dean's heart broke in front of him. Every time he closed his eyes he saw the heartbroken look on Dean's face. He kept his ring on, it made him feel close to Dean. During the day he tried to stay strong, trying to distract himself with whatever he could. At night though when he was alone, he'd hold Dean's mask close and cry.
