Sinful Secrets by Rye_Bread

Thomas stumbled down the walkway, his scuffed converse tripping over each other. The incoordination of going day drinking was affecting him. Suddenly, the sky was in his view and the cold blades of grass poked at him through his thin t-shirt. With a lazy smile curling his lips, he splayed his limbs about him. The stars were out tonight, though most were blotted out by the hazy lights of the neighborhood. He closed his eyes for a moment, remembering when Priya would tell him about the constellations. Her eyes would sparkle with excitement, and she would grab his hand, pulling out one finger to trace an imaginary line in the black void of space.

When she thought he was looking at the stars, he would gaze at her, wondering when this would end. Everything good would eventually end for him. Not noticing his lack of attention, she would shift closer to him on the blanket they splayed out on her backyard, and he would wrap his arms around her as if he would never let go. Then, Priya would giggle and try to move his hands away, but he would tangle his fingers in hers and move to where their hands were on his chest. On his heart.

She would then look at their joined hands, noting the contrast of his pale skin and her darker tone. Her mouth would form around words such as "yin" and "yang", but he would interrupt, capturing her lips with his until they both were gasping for breath, eyes locked. She would breathlessly scold him for interrupting her, and he would pretend to be sorry. Yet, it happened again and again, every time they went to "see the stars."

Thomas ran a hand down his face when he thought of her new and improved model of "boyfriend", and whether or not he was doing that with her. He slowly lifted himself up, attempting to keep from vomiting on his mother's grass. As he struggled to his feet, he realized something. Priya still had his phone. It was the perfect way to talk to her, to just hear her voice again.

But, he scrapped the idea. He was already pathetic and miserable-- he didn't need to spread that to Priya, even if she hated him.

He still loved her.
