"It must have been hard to do everything on your own," Kevin said with a soft, apologetic look on his face. Elina felt her eyes getting wet and looked away. She scoffed, successfully controlling herself, and looked back at him, nodding as she started to speak. "Yeah, it was, but does it ma—" she stopped midway as the elevator trembled. She grabbed the metallic wall of the elevator for support, waiting for it to stop shaking. It didn't even take a second for it to stop trembling, and the lights inside the elevator went off as it stopped moving. Elina's eyes widened as she realized the elevator was stuck.

"Oh no!" Elina said as she stood upright and tried pressing the buttons of the elevator, but nothing worked. She huffed as she took out her phone and switched on the flashlight. Just then, she heard a low voice.

"Elina..." Kevin called her in a low voice. She turned around, frustrated, and spoke, "What hap—Mr. Kevin?!" she exclaimed as she saw Kevin crouching down, struggling to breathe. She widened her eyes and squatted near his level, still holding the small light while Kevin tried hard to breathe. "Wha—what's wrong?" she asked him, but he couldn't speak, still struggling for air. Panicking, she said, "Mr. Kevin, try breathing slowly," while Kevin tried to follow her instructions but felt his eyes drooping.

Elina's heart raced as she hoped Kevin wouldn't lose consciousness. Fortunately, the lights flickered back on, and the elevator moved slightly before coming to a stop and opening its doors. She was relieved to see a few guards standing outside, looking concerned. "Thank goodness," she muttered under her breath.

One of the guards stepped forward. "Are you both alright?"

Elina nodded. "Yes, but please help him. He seems to be having trouble." Kevin, barely conscious, let himself be guided out of the elevator with Elina and the guards' assistance.

"There was a power outage, which is why the elevator stopped," a maintenance staff member explained, bowing slightly in apology. Kevin managed to open his eyes briefly but then passed out in Elina's arms, causing her eyes to widen in alarm. The guards and staff were equally shocked to see the CEO faint. Fortunately, there were only a few people around, preventing a chaotic scene.

Elina took a deep breath, trying to stay calm. The staff's voice broke through her thoughts. "Call an ambulance!"

"No, wait," Elina quickly interjected. "It might take too long. I'll take him myself." She spotted a taxi idling nearby. "Help me get him into that taxi."

The guards nodded and helped Elina get Kevin into the back seat of the taxi. She climbed in beside him, giving the driver urgent instructions. "To the nearest hospital, please!" The driver, sensing the urgency, sped off immediately.

Elina bit her lip, worry etched across her face as she glanced at Kevin. She sighed, "I must call someone he knows." She reached into Kevin's pocket and retrieved his phone. Seeing it required a fingerprint, she carefully placed Kevin's finger on the sensor to unlock it. Navigating to the contacts, she was stunned to find no family or personal contacts listed.

Remembering the name of his secretary, she said aloud, "Liam." She found his contact and dialed the number. Within moments, Liam answered, "Yes, sir?"

Elina responded urgently, "Mr. Liam, this is Elina speaking. Mr. Kevin has passed out, and I'm taking him to the hospital. It would be best if you could get here quickly."

Liam's voice immediately reflected his concern. "I'll come right away!" he said, hanging up the call. Elina put Kevin's phone back in his pocket and looked at him sympathetically, her mind racing with questions. "Why can I never understand you..." she thought, her eyes filled with worry and confusion.

The taxi sped through the streets, and Elina kept a close watch on Kevin, regardless of her anger towards him she hoped that he would be okay.

They soon arrived at the hospital, and Elina wasted no time in calling for assistance. Hospital staff rushed over with a stretcher, quickly transferring Kevin and wheeling him inside. Elina followed closely, explaining the situation to the medical team as they moved.
