Time skip to next day

As Elina entered her office, she immediately noticed a bouquet of her favourite yellow roses on her desk. Raising an eyebrow, she picked up the card attached.

"Good morning, Ms. Elina. I'm sorry if I made you upset the day before... - Kevin."

Elina rolled her eyes and muttered, "He thinks flowers can solve everything?" She held the card, then glanced at the flowers. Just as she was about to pick them up, Clara and Aria burst into the room.

"Whoa, such beautiful flowers!" they exclaimed, rushing over to Elina's desk.

Elina gulped, her eyes widening as she quickly folded the card and tried to discreetly toss it aside. The girls, however, were too excited to notice.

"Whoa, Ms. Elina, are those for you?!" Aria asked, eyes sparkling with curiosity.

Elina blinked and gulped again, shaking her head nonchalantly. "No!" she exclaimed a bit too loudly, causing the girls to exchange awkward smiles.

Clara pouted as she examined the flowers. "I wonder who they're for?"

Aria shrugged. "Yeah, I wonder the same."

Clara's eyes suddenly lit up with curiosity as she spotted something. "Oh wait! There's a card attached!"

Elina's heart skipped a beat. Wait—what?! He put another card?!

Clara slowly opened the card and began reading aloud, while Elina closed her eyes, bracing herself. "I know you must've thrown the previous note, so I'm writing this again to tell you that I—" Clara paused, blinking in surprise before looking at Elina. Aria nudged Clara to continue.

"I what? Read ahead, Clara."

Clara nodded and finished reading, "—that I won't give up on you."

Aria's eyes widened in shock. "Oh my gosh! Is something going on between someone in our unit?" She grabbed the card from Clara and frowned. "But there's no name on it... How will we know who it's from?"

Elina sighed in relief, but Clara looked at her seriously. "I know who gave this."

Elina's eyes widened, and she reflexively asked, "How?"

Clara sighed dramatically. "Because it's for me," she replied, while Aria frowned, and Elina silently breathed a sigh of relief.

This girl first shocks me, then saves me... Elina thought, shaking her head.

Clara continued, "It must be from James," she said, referring to her boyfriend, trying to hide a smile.

Aria shook her head. "Did you guys fight again?"

Clara shrugged. "Well, it doesn't matter now that he's trying to make it up to me," she said, smiling.

Elina managed a smile as well and nodded, excusing herself. Without the girls noticing, she discreetly grabbed the original card she had thrown away earlier and slipped out of the room while they continued chatting.

Once outside, Elina glanced at the card again and sighed in frustration. She tossed it into the nearest trash bin before heading downstairs to the coffee vending machine, needing a moment to clear her head. Since it was still early, the office was quiet. She pressed the button and waited for her coffee, muttering to herself, "He's still a fool! Who pulls a stunt like this in his own company?"

As she took a sip of her coffee, she tried to calm herself. "I guess he really is determined," she mused before quickly shrugging it off. "Let him waste his time if he has so much of it."
