Kookie's POV...

As I opened my eyes, the room enveloped me in complete darkness. Jade's grip on my neck was tighter than ever, just as she had promised. Every time I attempted to gently remove her from my arm, thinking she had finally drifted off to sleep, her eyes would snap open, wide awake. Frustrated, I decided to give up and settled myself comfortably on the bed beside her. I turned on my favorite YouTuber, Cory Kenshin, who was playing a thrilling game called The Ghost Train. Lost in the captivating gameplay, I fell asleep with Jade, still clinging to my neck.

Exhausted and slightly famished, I finally arrived at my apartment around 2:15 a.m. As soon as I flicked on the living room light, Akiyo bombarded me with questions. "Where have you been all night?" she angrily inquired.

As I placed my keys on the coffee table, I couldn't help but counter her question. "The better question is, why are you sitting in the dark in my house at two o'clock in the morning?"

Akiyo's eyes narrowed, filled with a mix of anger and hurt. "You know why I'm here, Kook. You purposefully disrespected me in front of your supposedly best friend."
