Jungkook's POV…
"Mom, Kook is here!" My little sister, Iseul, yelled after opening the front door. "Where's Jade?" She asked, her eyes immediately scanning past me.
"At home, I suppose," I responded, stepping into the house.
"Aww man, she's the only reason I bothered to show up here today." She huffed after closing the door. "You should've brought her along with you."
"Why would I bring her here today?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Because I miss seeing her."
"No, let's be honest here. What you really miss is constantly pestering her about something that you know will never happen between the two of us," I retorted, leaving her stunned in the foyer.
"That's not true," Iseul murmured, trailing behind me into the living room.
"Where is everyone?" I asked, making my way towards the kitchen.
"Mom's upstairs, probably changing her clothes again. Dad and Jung-hyun are in his man cave, eyes glued to the TV screen," she replied, then walked out of the kitchen. As I stood there, the enticing aroma of egg fried rice, pajeon, tangzhong (milk bread), egg roll, bulgogi, white rice, and kimchi jjigae wafted through the air, causing my stomach to growl hungrily.
"Get away from those pots!" Mom's voice boomed, sending shivers down my spine. "How many times have I warned you about prying open the lids on my precious cooking vessels?"
"I was just curious to see what delightful surprise you cooked for breakfast," I replied, wrapping my arms around her in a tight embrace.
"If it weren't for my unconditional love for you, you'd be feasting on a plate of air and sipping on a tall glass of water for breakfast," she playfully threatened.
"You do realize that no one can actually consume air as food, right?" I chuckled.
"Well, if you keep meddling in those pots, you might just become the first person on earth to survive off air and water," she warned, before inquiring, "Where are my daughters?"
"Don't you mean 'daughter,' not 'daughters'?" I gently corrected her, then added, "Iseul is probably upstairs in her room."
"No, I said exactly what I meant. And no, I'm not asking you about Iseul's whereabouts because I already know where she is," Mom replied, her tone firm.
"Who are these other daughters you're referring to then?" I asked, taking a seat at the dining room table.
"Where are Jade and Akiyo?" She asked, leaning against the kitchen island.
"Jade is at home. I don't know where Akiyo is," I responded.
"How can you not know where your girlfriend is?" I hesitated, contemplating whether to reveal the truth about Akiyo and me breaking up. My mom's strong bond with Akiyo made it difficult to share the news about our breakup.
"Answer me! How do you not know where your girlfriend is?" My mom pressed, her brows furrowing together.
"She's no longer my girlfriend," I interjected, cutting off any further questions. "We ended things a few days ago."
