Kookies POV…
As I finally departed from the office, exhaustion weighed heavily upon me, leaving me devoid of any motivation to indulge in anything. All I craved was the comfort of my home and the sweet embrace of slumber. Even on Jade's special day, the prospect of socializing with my friends failed to ignite the faintest flicker of interest within me. Preparing to recline my head against the headrest and surrender to a few moments of sleep, a sudden uproar erupted from a nearby vehicle, shattering the tranquility of the surroundings. Intrigued, I turned my gaze to the right, only to see Bryan and Dr. Shoo engaged in a passionate and animated discussion, their voices resonating with fervor.
"You must come to terms with the fact that she no longer wishes to be with you," Dr. Shoo's voice boomed as he confronted Bryan.
"If I can't have her, then no one else can either," Bryan sneered, his voice filled with malice as he attempted to maneuver around Dr. Shoo.
The weariness that had consumed me moments ago dissipated instantly upon hearing his menacing words, which I knew were directed toward Jade. A surge of fiery anger coursed through my veins, banishing any trace of fatigue. Clenching the steering wheel tightly, I shut my eyes and took several deliberate, deep breaths, striving to regain composure before stepping out of the vehicle to confront this jerk.
"Not only are you a jealous ex-boyfriend, but you also exhibit traits of being a psychotic, delusional man. It is imperative that you seek immediate mental help," Dr. Shoo retorted, shaking his head from side to side.
"If you persist in pursuing a relationship with Jade, you're going to fucking witness firsthand how psychotic I really am," Bryan thundered.
As I struggled to regain control over my anger, it dawned on me that as long as Bryan lingered in my presence, I would forever be trapped in a constant state of uncontrollable rage.
Before stepping out of the vehicle, I swiftly retrieved my gun from the glove compartment and discreetly concealed it in the right pocket of my lab coat. "Bryan, it's time for you to leave! Go home!" I bellowed, startling both him and Dr. Shoo.
"I will not leave here without Jade!" Bryan snapped.
"Listen up, jerkface. I've had enough of your nonsense today. I don't have the patience or energy to deal with you. It would be in your best interest, as well as mine, to just go home," I sneered, closing the distance between us.
"Dammit, why can't you and this imbecile comprehend that I am not leaving this place without Jade?" Bryan exclaimed, forcefully prodding his long, skeletal finger into the center of Dr. Shoo's chest.
As the door swung open, our collective gaze snapped toward the entrance. I hurried toward Jade, but noticed a crazed and menacing glint flickering in Bryan's eyes.
"If you so much as lay a finger on her, I swear on everything I hold dear, I will bring an end to your wretched existence today!" I declared, my fingers poised over the trigger of the pistol, ready to act should this bastard dare make a foolish move.
"Jade, I beg you, don't leave me. My love for you is boundless. I cannot fathom a life without you," Bryan pleaded, oblivious to the peril that awaited him should he dare get closer to Jade. "You are my world, my everything. Please, give me another chance. I promise you won't regret it." He continued to beg.
"Man, you're utterly pathetic," Dr. Shoo scoffed, his voice dripping with contempt as he stood behind Bryan. "Can't you see that this woman has no desire to be involved with you anymore? It's time to face reality and let her go!"
