When Lucifer set me down and I opened my eyes to see a bedroom that was not mine. I stepped away from him into the open space of it. Thick black curtains covered the arched windows, and a tall shelf of books covered almost the entirety of one wall. The bed, which was the same height as mine, yet far wider, sat central in the room between two of the windows and on the tables just beside it, tall black pillar candles burned sending wisps of smoke into the air. The sheets were a deeply rich red that contrasted with the black of everything else. The fireplace was intricately carved to look like a vicious mouth with sharp teeth open around a roaring fire inside.

Two other doors led from the room, one of which I assumed was a bathroom, and the other was open to a balcony from where we must have flown through. Books were stacked on a dark wooden table, one of which was laid open, and there was only one chair, and the back was carved into tattered wings.

"Is this your room?" I asked as I walked toward the bookshelf and trailed my finger over the dusty spines.

Lucifer strode over to the chair and rested his hand on the back of it as he said, "Our room." My heart thudded as his eyes tracked my every movement while I examined my surroundings. I tried to do anything other than look at him, or the ring that sat on my hand. It was all still too much. I was still mad and hurt, even if he did confess that he was in love with me. He had still tricked me.

I hated the way he made me feel. I was scared of this power he had over me, and the way that I couldn't stop wanting him, and I had fallen for him even though what he did hurt me and broke the trust that I was beginning to have for him. I couldn't settle all of the conflicting thoughts in my mind.

"Keiran." His deep velvet voice sent a shiver through me. Still, I wouldn't look. His ability to crumble my resolve was too potent. "Will you please talk to me?" I stayed silent, not that I knew what to say anyhow. He released a sigh, and I heard his footsteps cut across the room behind me. "Please, little one. I can't stand you being mad at me," he said as turned me to face him, and brushed his hand over my cheek.

"You should have thought about that before tricking me." He clenched his teeth and grabbed hold of me before he lifted me off my feet and set me on the bed. He pinned himself between my legs, and my stupidly disobedient body heated at the feel of him.

With his hand gripped on my chin he said, "I know what I did, but you must understand that even outside my claiming you, you were still mine. You are mine. We are blood bound, and I am just as much yours. You knew what you signed up for. I told you I am not a nice man; I am the Devil—you know this, but I didn't lie to you."

"No, I suppose you didn't. You just neglected to tell me everything, still a lie by omission." His hands were rough as he gripped my hips and pulled me closer.

"Keiran, if transparency is what you want, I will give it to you, but you need to know that I am always going to do what I think is best even if you don't like it. I love you, and that makes you my weakness. I have to protect that. I have to protect you. Now please, stop fighting this. I can't take one more second not buried inside you."

"Lucifer—" I started to protest when he shook his head. His brows here drawn low, and his eyes were heavy as they stared into mine. He brushed his lips against my mouth to silence me.

"No more arguing little one. We have one more part of the ceremony to complete," he said as he slipped his hand beneath the fabric of my dress and ran it up between my thighs.

Though my breath hitched at the graze of his fingers, I tried to resist and pushed against his chest. "I am not letting you consummate me."

His deep chuckle vibrated the skin of my neck as he kissed along the tender spot where he had bitten me. The sound was so dangerously sweet and caused my heart to palpitate, and tension spooled tight in my core. My hands released the sheet I had been gripping and reached out for him. He had me under his control, making me grab his length, my fingers rubbing down the material. The friction of his fingers disrupted my critical thinking, and I was finding it harder and harder to focus on my anger instead of the rising sensation.

He groaned, "I told you Keiran, this is necessary to keep you safe." His fingers slipped inside, and my head fell back as bliss washed over me. "So yes, you are going to let me. You're going to let me and you're going to beg for more, because you know just as well as I do that you want me inside of you."

A moan escaped just before his lips seized mine. As hurt as I was, the thought of not having him hurt more, and I could see his twisted logic in his actions even though I wished he discussed it with me first. It was pointless to fight it. I already made the deal. I was already his. How was being his wife worse than being his possession? Maybe he had already warped me, and I was too far gone. His control of me released almost as if to prove his point, because my hands continued the motions.

Lucifer slipped his hand from me, and took a step back, his eyes burning hot as he tugged his pants down and bared himself to me. My hands reclaimed their position and he shuttered under my touch. Watching him respond to me only made my desire for him grow. I ran my tongue across him as I leaned forward. His muscles jerked as he pulled in a sharp breath. His hand gripped my hair and pulled me back. "I want to hear you say it again Keiran," he rasped.

I looked up at him and I knew what he wanted to hear. Tightening my grip around him, I said, "I love you." Then he took hold of me and lifted me against him. My dress scrunched up to my hips as my legs wrapped around his waist, then he plunged inside me without restraint as I screamed to the ceiling and the earth above.
