28. gnosis hunt

After the guests had left and the party was over, raiden ei was resting in the Tenshukaku. She had enough of dealing with people all night long so it ended in meditating alone in her palace.

Scaramouche opened the door, he was carrying a sword and a delusion.

"I was waiting for you. I wonder what took you so long, my beloved child." She said with a calm manner still not facing him.

"Tell me where's the gnosis, mother." He demanded while pointing his sword at the almighty shogun.

She finally stood up and ended her meditation. She summoned her electro sword "i was fooled by you once again thinking you finally started to cherish your family but my hypothesis was correct that you've arrived to take the gnosis. May i ask you one thing kunikuzushi? What took you so long? I was wary of you from the beginning."

He smirked "it's none of your business!"

"You can't defeat me, it's a warning to turn back." Ei offered her sincere piece of advice for him to give up.

"If there's someone who can defeat you is me, mother. Your ability holder." He had already decided to participate in a duel.

Ei had suspected his behavior for a very long time, she knew he had became a harbinger so his arrival meant he was plotting something.

Harbingers identity were top secrets so not anyone rather than her would notice anything suspicious.

The accurate reason she asked someone to accompany him was her way of putting a spy so he could no longer do as he pleases running around all day and doing his job which he only came here for.

Having stayed there for a while scaramouche made his first move. He jumped using his electro speed to attack her. Ei blocked the attack and pushed him away.

Another attack approached the shogun and hit her with a pyro element. She realized that aside from electro, he prepared a pyro delusion in advance to have the upper hand in this fight.

"Give me the gnosis and I'll leave." He ordered.

"Doing that means giving up on my son too. I won't let you leave us. Now that makoto has returned, are you really going to hurt her again by leaving?" She was furious, she didn't know what scara lacked in his life to leave them behind and join the fatui only to motivate makoto to leave as well.
