Five Years Later

The sounds of laughter, chatter, and music filled the air as Flora navigated her way through the bustling wedding preparations. The pathway to Bloom's dressing room had become more like a circus than a civil ceremony.

Regardless, her heart was full of excitement as she rapped her knuckles against the door.

Stella opened it just a tad, peeping out to see who it was. Her eyes widened, a squeal broke the silence and a hand dragged her inside.

"Where have you been?" Stella exclaimed as she slammed the door behind them.

"Sorry, Em took forever to get ready and then I had to deal with all the flowers," Flora said.

"It's okay," Bloom said, beaming as she pulled her friend into a hug, who narrowly missed losing an eye to one of Bloom's hair rollers.

"Stella, are these really necessary? We have magic." She asked, squinting at the odd earthly contraptions.

"Shush. It's fun! Plus, isn't it all part of the wedding experience?" Stella replied with a grin.

"I guess-" Flora laughed before hearing a tiny knock at the door.

"And what do we have here, young man?" Stella questioned as she opened the door to find her son bounding in, swiftly followed by Emerald and a frantic Anagan chasing after them.

"Me and Emmy were playing hide and seek, but she had her eyes open and followed me!" Dawn complained as his mum scooped him up.

His cheeks were flushed pink from the exercise, a colour that nearly rivalled the rose tips of his hair, slowly fading down into a burnt orange. He had his mother's wide golden eyes and his father's mischievous gait.

"Did not!" Emerald stamped her foot. Her skin was dark like her father's with freckles from her mother, her hair coiled tightly against her scalp, and she had eyes green like the forest in which they fell in love.

"Did too!"

"Did—"

"Whoa, whoa, whoa there, young lady," Anagan interjected, crouching down to her level. He turned to Dawn, a firm yet gentle expression on his face, prompting Emerald to apologize.

Emerald looked sheepish for a moment before relenting. "Sorry, Dawn," she murmured, her voice carrying genuine regret.

Dawn grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. "Apology accepted, Emmy," he replied, reaching out to give her a quick hug.

Despite the brief tension, their laughter soon filled the room once more. Dawn and Emerald exchanged playful glances before racing off together.

Anagan sighed. "So sorry about that. I've been trying to keep them away from here."

"It's okay, my love" Flora smiled warmly. "They're just excited."

"Exactly," Stella chimed in. "But now, let's focus on making this bride the most stunning ever!"

Flora and Bloom shared a knowing look across the room.

"Always about fashion with you, Stel," Flora teased with a gentle smile.

"Yes, and if you're not careful, one of you might end up with a roller flying towards your face," Stella replied playfully.

Bloom couldn't help but snort with laughter before turning to Anagan, who stood nearby with his gaze fixed on Flora, a soft smile playing on his lips.

"How's Ogron?" she said, causing his eyes to cut away to her.

"Honestly, I've never seen him more worried," Anagan replied with a chuckle. "I think he's convinced you're gonna run away at the altar."
